Slap me and tell me I'm crazy

Last night when I was rushing to get put the door somewhere I went too put on my back pack that was a little to tight fitting but I was rushing and instead of loosening it impatiently jammed my arm through the strap. Not 100 percent on this but I got caught up a little bit on my stuff and I am kind of worried I might ve accidentally bent my crown on this Orient. It still winds and screws down still but looking at it I feel like I'm seeing it bent on one side. Totally willing to accept that I'm tripping and let the ocd go if I'm wrong but what do the nerds think? Look okay too you??

Find the Orient advertising photos and see if you can spot any difference.

Otherwise it looks great to me.😎

Was the crown screwed down at the time the incident occurred? It doesn’t really look bent to me.

·

I'll be 💯 with you, if you have enough kinetic force to bend a screwed-in crown when donning a backpack, I'm very impressed...IF the crown was screwed in.

If it wasn't, maybe, but still unlikely.

Though still that's what crown guards are for. YMMV.

Call 911🤣

·

Looks fine to me.

·

Isn't that what the crown guards are there for?

·

It does not look screwed down as there is a seal on the underside of the crown.

That's just a qc issue that came with it but it's definitely screwed down.

this is screwed down.

The seal that is in the crown interfaces with the top of the tube so even if it dosnt become flush with the case at the bottom it is still screwed down.

·

You could take it out and check 😂

·

Does the crown work as normal?

·

I can’t see it bent at all, looks good to me.

·

I would say your tripping but I get it, I was like you when I was younger. Enjoy the watches and if your going to wear them, do so without worrying. If not, they own you, instead of you owning them. Have fun, but as an older and hopefully wiser guy, I do get younger guys worrying about this stuff because I was the same way. Not judging at all.

Looks bent to me.....

·

Looks fine to me. Was the crown screwed down all the way when the backpack incident occurred?

·

No worries :) you didn’t hurt it. It looks good!

·

Looks fine to me too!

·

Nice watch, looks fine to me. Is it the FAA02006M9?

That’s not screwed down fully in the photos you have posted here the crown should sit flush with the case

Does the crown stay straight when you turn it if so then the stem should be straight

Looks fine to me.

I believe you that it's screwed down tight, but I don't think I could live with that QC issue. You can still see threads on the crown tube. All of the stock pictures show the crown flush with the case, as @OldSnafu posted. Unless, of course, the crown tube is cross-threaded, and that's as far as the crown will go? If it came to you like that and is still under warranty, I would contact Orient.

I always use the counter clockwise turn before engaging with threading as too make sure I don't do that.

Ironically I had two watches sent too me with this issue but as I learned the crown dosnt have to be flush with case for the water resistance seals to do their thing I just ignore it as a QC issue. If it dosnt actually comprise the life of the watch it is but a minor annoyance too me it Image

·

The crown should be flush tight to the body it looks un screwed to me but then you've said the crown is screwed down there's your problem I'm afraid . Hope you get it sorted best of luck .

·

Was it screwed in?

If yes, then I can see no way how the crown should bend.

Heck, the whole case would have to bend with it (which would make it look quite right again. So yeah, you might have a nasty bend in the whole case, dial and all… or it‘s all good. Here, have your slap 🫲🏻)

💯 If you bought it direct from orient then go back to them don't except a watch with a QC problem that's not right or fair to you .👍

Yeah, that would drive me nuts, especially if it came that way brand new, out the box. It shouldn't affect water resistance if the seals on the crown are in tact, but it does leave a little gap for dirt/sand to accumulate, which may work its way into the threads, and possibly inside the crown tube. Plus, I would always have that nagging feeling that the crown was hanging out there further than it should, and would always be checking it to see if I screwed it in. 😂 If you can live with it, then no problem.

You spund like cop 😃😃😃

I'm sure you can hold it at angles where it looks like it does, and angles that looks like it doesn't. The same as a seconds hand can look like it's hitting at some angles and missing at others. It's an optical illusion, basically. Let it go or, truly, you'll drive yourself nuts.

Looks fine 🙂
