$176,400. For EJ's Leopard Daytona
Looking at some online news and I came acrossed this article about Elton John's Leopard Rolex Daytona. Christie's sold it at auction for $176,000. setting a record.
I can't believe that this thing would sell for that much. I love a good Rolex but this one is outright different. I'm not sure if I like it or if it's just ugly. It's definitely unique. Yeah! I would wear it. LOL 😂
Now I need to know which one of you Crunchers bought it? I would like to try it on if possible. Anyone?

I have been collecting watches for a while now. I have so many watches that I wear a different one every day. Cheap to expensive, if I like how it looks I wear it.

You're probably right. I think I watched Producer Michael on YouTube a while back talk about his. I think that's what he said his was worth.

It’s like Rolex had 15 too many drinks at the bar one night and went home with Invicta.
I’m surprised at that price; it’s a lot, but I thought these were more.
I quite like it, because it is so garish. I wouldn’t want it, even if I was in that market, even with the provenance, but it has its place and that’s all that matters.
Now… no doubt it will be wall to wall Seiko and Tudor till Sunday. Thanks for the break in proceedings.

Actually it is not unique. It was a regular reference Rolex offered at the time of purchase. BTW, it went for like 3X the preauction high estimate. Not everybody finds it ugly evidently.

I believe this watch would look fantastic in Elton John's wrist, and no one else's.
I can tell you that this watch was sold at that price, just because it belongs to Sir Elton John, not because it's worth it. I believe this model found its two minutes of fame on the wrist of Nicolas Cage. I am a firm believer that every watch is made for people who will find them awesome no matter what.
