Are Seiko Mods Respected ?

I'll never quite understand the reasoning of putting a GMT bezel insert on a 3 hand watch.

Hi foghorn , let me make it understandable to you I just need the GMT Bazel to track a 2nd time zone , I don’t necessarily need to track a third time zone by just adding another GMT Hand on this MOD — I personally like this MOD Without the GMT Hand ,

However I am planning to own the Jack mason strat o timer soon .. which will have a true gmt function 🖤✨

I swap out the 7S26 movements for NHs in my old Seiko 5s, and I like to throw in a color matching Arabic date wheel if I can. I think you can make a lot of your own improvements and really make your watch unique.

I think it looks cool.

I changed the original bezel with a coined edge(I really disliked the original - even if it’s iso certified), and swaped the jubilee bracelet with an oyster one with solid endlinks .

When it comes down to Mods. I just love doing my own thing.

I have never seen a tasteful mod of a seiko. Just buy an SLA and be done.

If it's a mod that customize and personalizes the watch, then I'm all for it. I've done 2, getting ready to do number 3. But if the mod just makes it look like a Rolex in everything but name (it isn't certified superlative chronometer, shouldn't say it on the dial), then I'm not a fan.

Con el tema de mods, en mi país 🇺🇾 prácticamente la marca seiko no está presente, si sus subsidiaria. Mucho menos encontrar o importar piezas. Por lo que solo en mod, solo hago relumen es o cepillados en las cajas, modificaciones en agujas... Etc

My opinion is mods are cool when it makes the watch unique, but not when it’s pretending to be a watch it isn’t.

I got 3. For whatever reason I started building with Miyota 821a so I go with the no logo dials.
