Did the Moonswatch disappoint?

I like my Moonswatch mission on earth.

People often complain on their quality, robustness and so on, and rightly so, in many ways.

I’m happy with my Moonswatch Mission on Earth.

I expected a swatch, not an Omega. It’s a swatch with an Omega design. The I saw it, I paid that premium over a standard swatch plastic chronograph, for the design. And that’s exactly what I got 🤷🏼‍♂️

Anyway, great color scheme on that one 💚

Have a great weekend Crunchers 🙏🏻

Nice! Wear it and wear it proud. It should not matter what anybody else says about them. They've been a massive success for the Swatch group. Got more non enthusiasts in the door and into the world of watches. It apparently also drove up the sale of the "real" speedmaster. So it absolutely worked 💪.

The fact that almost everybody here in WC wears the MoonSwatch on a third-party strap indicates that, at least, the strap was disappointing.

I think there’s a way to align that chronograph hand.

I must be the exception to the rule I love the original strap

Love mine and the strap

Hehe, mine is actually aligned, I took the picture on a slight angle, but I’ve herd of QC issues 🤷🏼‍♂️

If I were to ever buy a real Moonswatch, I would choose the Mission on Earth too. I love Swatches in general, but the shenanigans with the boutique only purchases put me right off this one. I bought an Omsan "homage" instead for a 100th of the price.

A 100th, like 1%?! It was 300 $, did that cost 3 $?! 😱

Yes, it cost me exactly £2.35 including shipping. 😎

The strap wears ok if you switch heads and tails around. I think only about ⅓ of my watches are on their original strap and 100% have options, so ours are getting no different treatment than any other in our collections. Although the original isn't to everyone's liking, the upside is that owners have been creative in their substitute straps, I've seen some great combinations which work due to the colourful watch designs.

·

That's exactly how I feel about my Mission To Mars. Enjoy it, it's a great watch for many reasons.

·

Sorry to disappoint but I still think they are a toy! Brilliant sales product for the watch industry to hopefully bring new interest and collectors. I will concede that I possibly would consider buying the Uranus model simply for the namesake fun I can have with it.

·

Now I want to go on Amazon and get a fake Speedmaster! this is your fault!! Although my new Mickey Mouse watch is far more appropriate to my maturity level.

·

I like them.

·

As with many things, it’s a case of expectations more than reality. It is what it is. Whether it disappoints is more a matter of what you expected from it.

·
Crazy_Dana

And if you wanted a swatch chronograph you could’ve gotten one in stainless steel for 1/3 less money.

But not the iconic design and context

Now I don't want one anymore. Thanks for saving me some cash! :)

This is a 80.000 watch, you know why ? It's not the same !

A watch it's much more then value for money, if you don't get that, your enthusiasm for watches it's not the same too.

I understand that I was talking to the guy buying the plastic moon swatch. I own like 60 watches I know the difference. I’m not saying this is good horology I’m saying it’s still better than the moon swatch. I mean I don’t even wear quartz watches.

·

I never had a chance to have it disappoint me. I live a million miles away from any Swatch store. Perhaps the maker in his infinite wisdom put me where I am to keep me from going and standing in a horribly long queue and spending more money

·
tonto0808

Mine has not, I wear it maybe 1-2 times a month and it’s in great shape. I like and respect the Speedmaster, but the watch just isn’t a “buy” for me, so I get my fill and enjoyment out of it, while wearing a fun, light and comfortable chronograph.

Image

Hey, I got the same one! But havent even really wear it once. Lol… I need to start to just wear it.

Bust it out, it’s fun and worry free. Kind of cheery

·

It’s your watch, what matters is you like and enjoy it. Wear it in good health.

·

Nothing wrong with the collaboration though it was fantastic! But they could done a lot better with the quality and production.
