Your watch on show

Does anyone admit to adjusting their clothing so that their watch is showing?  Or draping an arm across the table so that the watch is shown in its best light? Or picking your nose so that everyone can see your watch?

I understand that some celebs do this a lot in interviews but that they are sponsored for their exposure.

It is interesting to reflect on this behaviour and on the oft quoted maxim that 'no-one notices the watch you are wearing.' You may be rearranging that cuff to no avail.

I've been wearing short sleeve shirts since May in order to show off my watch(also cause it's summer here).

·

This is the outfit I typically wear and how I position myself throughout the day.  Though, instead of muscles, imagine a beer belly instead.

·

Ya I try and keep it visible at all times

·

Hell no.

·

Um, no

·

Yeah, but just for me, not for anyone else. I don’t expect anyone to care.

·

I do it to my wife to troll. In reality no one cares about the watch I'm wearing.

You seem to have a lot of washing.

·

Whats the point if you’re going to make someone else feel insecure and bad about themselves?

·

Weirdly enough I don’t like the attention…but I do like to see my watch for myself and admire it but I don’t like other people admiring it…I know im weird…it my precious!! No one else…

But most of the time I’m happy go lucky guy…

I know, right?  It's all boxer briefs.  100 pairs of boxer briefs to go with my 100 different watches.  Boxer brief and watch are always color coordinated.

·

I’ll do it so I can see it, not necessarily to flash it to others. Same with my tattoos!  They’re for me first, everyone else second. But I would be lying if there wasn’t a small part of me that does want others to see too.

·

No! I would never do that! How dare you accuse me of such things! Dictate my clothing choices to show my watch off? What kind of nonsense is that??? Fine, I mean I do it sometimes but not often! Uh…I mean more often than not...what I really mean is all the time. There, are you happy now??

I have to ask others the time to be certain they look at it...

·

No, I do not.  My watches are used by me to tell the time not as an advertisement or a showpiece.  II value legibility, precision and simplicity above all else in a watch design.  II do have a couple of dress watches which are homages of the famed Cartier Tank, and the rest are mainly divers, field watches, or fliegers.

Lol. I’m the same exact way. When someone tells me nice watch I’m real nonchalant about it.

·

No, and I do not care what you think.

·

I often think about doing this early in the morning and then subsequently fail to do anything at all.

It works for me.

·

The only rule is there are no rules, wear whatever you like! No, strike that : the only rule is not to pick your nose in public!

·

Aye! 🙋🏾‍♂️

·

I try to make sure it's covered up when in public, or wear a Casio or Apple Watch if I know I'll be around a lot of people.

Same here. I admit that I have done that in the past but I noticed that most people  dont care. So I just adjust my clothing when I want to look at it. Because I bought the Watch for me Because I like it, not to show off to other people.

·

Yeah, bad habit I guess. Got it from my uncle.

·

Nope, none of my friends would care what I was wearing. I’d have to wear a boat anchor around my wrist for them to notice. That said, I’ve always believed the theory “Look good, play good.” So if you feel more confident rolling a cuff, go for it.

·

Nooooooo….. thats too much thought.

·

I used to get industry magazines that would very often feature some small business owner on the cover, usually in some ill-fitting coat and sloppily tied necktie. They'd regularly be in some contrived bent elbow pose* with their sleeve (that went down to their thumb on the other side) conspicuously pushed up to display some big flashy watch that couldn't really be identified anyway.  It was so self-conscious and tacky that I always openly mocked it to anyone that would listen. The watch was wearing the person, not the other way around.

* They tended to look like they were shaking hands with someone that was not there, as the goofy pose involved a level forearm and the back of the hand facing forward, which is a totally awkward position.

If you notice this behavior, it is not being done well. It looks like a sitcom gag akin to a man literally flexing and hoping others notice.

·

I changed my entire wardrobe recently to watch my watch collection! 🍻

·

Haha...I am more guilty of doing my best to get my watch some sun followed by a little shadow so I can grab their attention with the lume.
