SOTC 2022

By popular demand, here's my current collection. Relatively happy with it but I'm sure it's not staying static. What do you think I'm missing?  What are you adding this year?

Another great clip. Most enjoyable ones I watch on a regular basis, to be sure.

I too admire the varied collection you've built. Only quibble I'd have is that I think you deserve one more good modern sports watch (of the Omega or JLC price point). I frankly think everyone needs to have a couple.

You're missing an E-volve watch, let me send you one lol

JLC is on the short list, looking at her ultrathin moon 🙌

No they left the collection. I go through 50-80 watches a year. It's a problem 😔

·

Would be interested to know sotc by number of pieces...I'm sure there are some large collections out there. Looking to possibly add a Tudor Root Beer or BBP, too many wants not enough dough :-(

·

That really is a nicely balanced collection Max. I especially like your SBGA415 which is not the obvious choice compared to the Shunbun, and I agree your Speedy and Navitimer are much nicer versions than the typical variants. Thanks for setting up this wonderful forum for us!

·

Omg the Navitimer!

·

Thanks for another great video. Surprised you haven’t got a G-Shock, isn’t that a part of every collection? Or at least an F-91?

·

I was always looking for the Polerouter in a steel case with a dial in good condition.

Now I think I missed huge opportunities to own a gold one.

·

thats a pretty collection max, collection varian pretty much cover every genre

  1. love the Wittnauer
  2. I like SOTC's however, like you, it's a fluid situation that makes it impossible to keep accurate for very long
·

Great collection Max - pretty good coverage across different styles. I would say the one you need to add is either the Cartier Tank or the JLC Reverso to round out the collection (obvious snarky pun here since your collection is all round and it's time to square the circle). Thanks for another great video and, of course, I love the chronos.

·

Max when you do head down under message me will show you around Auckland

Yeah man, it's already changed since filming 😅

Yes yes, had a Tank for a bit, definitely looking to review a Reverso this year 👍

You bet buddy!  I wanna drive on the right side of the road 😅

Max, I am not surprised. As expected before your collection is awesomely divers. You have the best of everything. The most things I’ve seen before in other posts or videos. Your DJ was new for me, lovely piece. I love collections like yours where every piece is special in its own way. But I missed the Meister driver and the Tank solar beat, what happened? I thought they were part of your collection. If they are both not anymore in your collection, I would suggest you for sure a German watch! You tried Nomos and Junghans, so what about a Sinn 856 UTC. You have no UTC, the hardend steel is amazing (no scratches) and the metal looks like titan which you also don’t have.

My next watch would be a Tank Louis black dial yellow gold (w/o numerals like the must).

·

Thanks for the video. Cool to see your journey through collecting. Nice to the modded stuff especially. Hope you get to look back at this video in five year’s time and look back with fondness at your style, taste at this point in your life

·

Great collection Max. What I’d hope for you (and what I’m thinking about for me) is a JLC Reverso. I’m a fan of dual time zone watches and think the case style would be a great addition for us both.

·

Favorite in that video still had to be your Frankenseiko explorer. That thing is 👌

A SOTC feature on here would be sweet I love watching this site evolve

·

Loved the sections your broke the collection out in. I’d say a complicated dress watch.. JLC Reserve de Marche.. complicated Reverso.. GO panomatic lunar or something along those lines.

·

This vid was awesome @Max! Your collection is truly unique and specific to you. Did you have a few of the "hype" brands? Sure but with a twist vis a vis Rolex, Tudor and Omega. What I liked was that it was unique to you. Many of my watches have a story as to why I wanted/bought it. I record little videos in my phone of them as a fun little activity.

·

Would love to see a before/ after 6 months comparison on how your BB 925 patina’s as time goes. 😎

·

Great collectiin and strap choices! Thanks for identifying them.

·

Hey Max, what kind of strap do you have on your Grand Seiko?

·

The one watch I am after this year is the newly released Casio MTG G-Shock the MTGB3000BD12 in particular.
