Citizen Ends The Game

You thought we were done with integrated bracelets? Well let's end the era with a bang with this Tsuyosa small seconds.

This or PRX, what's your pick?

Another excellent review Max. Another shot across the bow of the PRX.

·

Although at a higher price point, would one consider the Series 8 GMT?

Iono, they are kind of homagey to me

It's a trend in your vids, and I am here for it.

·

The PRX never quite connected with me, the small seconds Tsuyosa does ✌️

·

I am not really a fan of an integrated bracelet, but I think it would have to be the Citizen for me.

This is a better alternative 👍

Absolutely. Handled one last week and I’m very tempted. Especially the Pepsi one. It’s solid..

What you call this Citizen? Citizen is just jumping on the hype train and success of the PRX.. and I’m tempted to say, that it won’t do well.

·

I ordered a blue one, the guilloche which starts really small and gets bigger as you get to the edges off watch, I really like it, and, I love my 3 Tsuyosas

Yeah I really like that the pattern is not homogenous

·

Citizen seems late to the game with this design. I think your points on the movement & braclet are spot on. IMO the Casio Oceanus OCW-S100-1AJF is Titanium & High Accuracy Quartz is a far better choice than this watch, the PRX etc. = all of them. The Citizen Promaster series is the shining star of the brand.

·

I love the dial on the Citizen but, the bracelet not so much. Polished centre and no taper. I’d still like to see one in person. Who knows, I may just buy one if it comes in a black dial version. I still love the PRX though. It’s not perfect but I love it. I did get it on sale though. 👌

·

I'll say the Citizen in this video was a good looking watch. I didn't really care for the PRX

·

Love it!

·

This may be the salmon dial of 2024 and an excellent price point.

·

With all the problems I had across my five (!) PRXs that I’ve owned, I’d take the Tsuyosa any day of the week. It can’t be or get worse than these overpriced and overhyped crap-pieces…

·

Beautiful dial and I like the new seconds hand, but the bracelet is a let down. The case is also bigger than the previous model and it still lacks authenticity. PRX gets a lot of hate, usually from people who don't like that everyone likes them or people who have a bad taste because they got the wrong size (too big for their wrist). I'm biased as I own the PRX but I don't think this is better.

·

Still believe the PRX is the most overrated and overhyped watch made in the last few years. Wears top heavy, wide and the butterfly clasp is rotten.

·

As an owner of both the Tissot PRX (40mm) and Citizen Tsuyosa, the Tsuyosa is a far better build and designed watch. Both have great and very different (from one another) bracelets, but the Citizen has far superior case design, dials, colorways, hands, and especially lume.

The PRX was amazing when it was new and different, but other brands have refined the integrated watch design to produce much better watches since then and are beating Tissot at the game they started.

·

Somehow I always loved the Tsuyosha over PRX and got one Tsuyosha as well.

·

Ok. I may have to add this to my collection. I was looking at the CW The Twelve or the PRX Ti, but this looks like it's just as impressive at a lower price point. I like the 51X goldish-brown!

·

I think your best arguments were the Citzen being better looking and less expensive. It’s time for the watch community to give the plastic parts thing a rest. The market has absorbed this not so controversial news over the last couple of years and Tissots still sell.

Whether a full metal movement or a hybrid metal / plastic movement, the Citizen and PRX are both mechanical movements that are produced to be disposable. You make the argument yourself. The components of the movement are therefore in my opinion largely irrelevant. I am puzzled at how you arrive at give me a quartz if the mechanical movement has any plastic parts.

I think the small seconds and beautiful dials now give Citizen the win ahead of the PRX 🙏🏻plus I can’t forgive the plastic parts in the Powermatic movement

Yup there is no forgiving the plastic movement. But we can vote with our wallets. 😜

And plastic parts…

·

I don't like the bracelet.

·

The Tsuyosa is a very nice looking watch. I would love it in my collection alongside my PRX. 😊

OMG they ruined the symmetry for me by having the crown at 4:30 😣😭. Yes 4:30 date windows bug me as well. 😂

Agree. Non 3 o'clock crowns and recessed crowns. It's s double no from me.
