I bought my first what I would consider "entry level luxury" or "premium" watch about 4 months ago. There are times that I regret it a little, not because of the purchase price but rather because I always planned to keep my collection small and sometimes doubt if that's the one I want to fill the slot.
My advice is try it on several times first, get a feel for how it fits with your daily life (activities, wardrobe, how it looks on your wrist from more than just a close up wrist shot) and then once you pull the trigger spend some days wearing your other watches. I guarantee when you've been without it a few days it will refresh your appreciation.
I just do my best not to wipe starting with my forearm and then I'm fine.
In all seriousness, that just another place to potentially lose your watch because you took it off.
