Which watch

Here’s an interesting question, at least to me. I start a jury trial tomorrow. I’m not going to give any specific details other than saying I’m a prosecutor (trying to prove the accused did it) and it’s a murder case. I’ve seen discussions before of attorneys feeling the need to look flashy in front of the jury. I see my role as a servant of the people. You don’t do my job for the money, so I don’t feel bringing the bling is the right look. Here’s my humble collection, plus a simple, black Casi-oak style G-shock. What are you thoughts on which one I should wear?

I vote for the Hamilton. Not sure why, it just feels right.

·

Hamilton KFA. Professional and understated.

·

The Bambino or the Hamilton Khaki

·

I presume you'll be wearing a suit to court. In that case, the Bambino is the most appropriate.

·

I’d go with the Orient, made to go with a suit.

·

I'd say the Orient. Black strap looks a bit dressier and I'm assuming you'll be in a dark suit. Nice unpretentious dress watch.

My $0.02. Good luck!

·

Orient or Farer. Diver isn't right in that environment, digitals look cheap in a court room, and the others are tools. The Orient is subtle and classic, the Farer is a modern take on it.

FWIW when I'm with clients (software / media) I wear similar. I don't wear anything that says I'm charging them too much, but equally I like to keep it plain and classic.

·

Hamilton 100% . This watch has a smart fit and finish = nothing flashy but at the same time quality. You know the date and the hour. A prepared professional always knows the date and the hour. I also would not change watches. A consistent image send a message & seems important for your work. Best of luck! Thank you for doing it for all of us! You're one of the good guys !

·

I would go with Orient, minimalist look but enough to make a small impression with the domed crystal.

·

Hamilton. As a servant of the court, a Hamilton adds to your credibility to a the jury, if they notice the watch at all. You'd want every advantage for your case.

·

Hamilton

·

You have some absolute bangers in your collection. But a serious case demands a serious watch. I love my Hammy and would normally choose that but not in this case since it’s not well suited for a courtroom or wearing with a suit. I’d go Orient. Good luck!

·

I was thinking Hamilton too but the band would have to match the outfit whereas the black banded Orient sorta is a catch-all for being inconspicuous. If it was me and a certain suit I like for situations such as yours, I'd wear the Hamilton .

·

I Would wear the Seiko 5. All blacked out with yellow hands. That shows you mean business beyond a reasonable doubt.

·

Wear the watch that matches your brown shoes. Which is the Hamilton by coincidence.

·

Casio Royale for me

·

I'd put the Hamilton on an black FKM rubber or Barton Elite black silicone strap and wear that one. Considered and refined without being ostentatious.

·

Other than maybe the diver I think anything else would be perfectly fine. Personally if I were to pick I'd go with the Bulova. It is very classic without being over or understated. It doesn't come off as showing off and it's simple straight forward dial style is fitting in a trial setting. I don't think anything you pick from these would really be inappropriate though.

·

I second Time Junkie. Hamilton, and never change it out for the duration. Good luck with your case!

·

Hamilton in my opinion.

·

Bambino would like sharp with a suit.

·

OOur collections look similar. And I think we have the same watch box lol. Nice collection sir!

Fellow lawyer and watch enthusiast here! I understand the idea behind going with the G shock, but ultimately you want to be seen as credible and in charge. I’d go with the Orient. The Hamilton and Bulova aren’t bad picks either, but they are in very casual brown leather straps that will clash with your suit.

·

The one not shown. It's actually the most subtly functional watch you have and since a watch probably (1) shouldnt be noticed by your audience based on what you say and (2) should be able to give you reminders, which I'm guessing you like since 3/9 of your watches have timers and alarms, I would go with that

Orient

·

I think the Hamilton, discrete and its a nice watch.

·

I like either the Bambino or the Bulova. I know everyone likes the Hamilton, but I think a tool watch with a suit looks a bit clumsy. There's a balance between looking too flashy and looking like you don't understand the dress code.

The Bambino is honestly too big for a dress watch imo, so while the look is right, I think it's a bit much. I'd like to see the Bulova dressed up on a nice leather strap. If you really want to communicate 'everyman' it's small enough to wear inside the wrist. Especially for older people, a watch on the underside of the wrist is associated with soldiers, law enforcement, the trades, etc.

·

I’d vote for the Farer or the Orient- they are clean and no-nonsense and look like the right mix of serious, professional, and understated.

·

Depends what you are wearing.. suit, I’d go for the orient, more casual, the Hamilton or Seiko gmt

·

Orient : dressy but subtle, or the Hamilton Khaki as a second choice. Good luck!
