My first Cartier!

Just added the Santos de Cartier ref WSSA00029 to the collection ❤

I've been looking in to Cartier for quite some time now, and have had an open mind to other the collections. But, I would always come back to the Santos collection. After looking at the different references within this collection, for example the Santos Dumont or the galbee (vintage). But after seeing the WSSA00029 in multiple videos, in real life and seeing the new bracelet technology I was sold.

Being able to switch straps within minutes without having to go to a dealer or using tools at all, blows my mind. The only con about this quick switch system is that only Cartier and Delugs (Company in US) sell these straps. Both very expensive...

All in all, very happy with my new purchase. Can't wait to add it to the WRUW shots.

Let me know what you think of the watch, not for you or already in collection/wish-list? And feel free to drop a foto and backstory of your Cartier or new purchase in the comments, would love to read/talk about it!

Thanks to @Timelessvintagewatches, Naarden NL

Looks great! Congrats 💥

Is the lug width specific to that model? If it is the standard 18 / 20 / 22mm lug width you should definitely be able to find 3rd party quick release straps.

·

Congrats!!

Delugs is based in Singapore. And unfortunately, they won't be selling any more straps for the Santos because they got a notice last year from Cartier about the patented quick change system and asking Delugs to stop producing straps for the Santos model. You can still find a couple of options available for sale in Delug, but they won't be selling after the 1st of May.

Yes, so far Delugs, and on Etsy. Delugs is no option because of import costs, and I don't trust Etsy products. I'll keep looking. Quick release is getting more popular, so 3rd party will probably get bigger in the future!

I see what you mean now, i think. The pin shape is specific to cartier so a standard quick release strap will not fit properly.

That's lovely, congratulations 🎉

It’s a beautiful watch. I bought mine in Jan after tracking it for over a year. Managed to get a 20% discount from the AD through a member on WatchCrunch!

I’m not too fussed about the strap situation as I highly doubt I’ll ever take it off the bracelet.

Beautiful timepiece.

Congratulations.

·

It’s a stunner

Wowzers gorgeous watch! Congratulations! I don't known how often I'd take it off bracelet. Seems like one Cartier expensive strap would cover a lifetime

Indeed! But I don't mind a nice green crocodile strap for a special occasion.

·

Congratulations, beautiful watch and suits your wrist really well😍

I'm interested to know more about the story behind that photo with vintage cars in the background if you feel inclined to 😉

·

I'm not sure I would have the guts to ask someone to take a picture of me buying a watch 🫣

You sir, are next level 👏

·

Congrats! You can go wrong with a Santos. Enjoy, and here's to your next one! 👍

·

Congrats! Beautiful watch, and as I've been saying for the past few years, Cartier is one of the most underrated watch houses in the industry - wear it in good health!

As for me...here's my story of how I first got my Cartier Tank 🙂

Somewhere in the Netherlands, come and find me haha🍻

That's a pretty small country, I'm on my way!

·

That watch will get attention! Well done! 🤝 Don't worry about the bracelet, it's perfect.

I aspire to own one, and I will, in time.

·

Congrats! These have been growing on me a lot lately. Happy new watch day!!

·

Well done. Absolute class.

Cartier gets unfairly lumped in with "fashion watches", but they now have high end capability in-house and a long history. I love the art deco design of Cartier! My first watched a roadster 20y ago, still love it!

Just picked one up yesterday as my first Cartier. I went into the AD wanting the new Tank Francaise but it just didn't look/feel right, then tried the Tank Must and was almost sold but then tried on the Santos and "wow" it just felt perfect. I now know how you feel 😀
