Bezel insert alignment

As I am admiring the new Lorier Neptune IV, it seemed to me like the 30 minute indicator on the bezel is off... is it just me?

Image

It looks like the "30" is off center. When I turn the bezel so the 30 is aligned to the 12 o'clock position, we should expect the bezel triangle to be perfectly aligned with the 6 o'clock marker, correct?

Am I taking crazy pills?

It doesn't look like anything aligns correctly at 6, even the hour triangle. Everything seems pushed off slightly to the right, even though the hour marker and 30 line up perfectly at the top.

·

Best guess would be optical distortion.

·

It’s distorted to make it look off, and so is the 35, then 40 and 45 mark further round the bezel. Then corrects at the fifty.

·

I see it too. Is this one of those “is the dress red or blue?” tests? 😂

·

Yeah, it looks off. A quick look around the Internet shows some pics of this watch that also seem to not line up properly and many that do, so it appears you're not alone. And these are all straight-on shots, not angled. I mean, you own the watch and can see it from all angles and if you say it's off, then it's off.

Meh, just consider it a Tudor homage. And if someone is cheeky enough to point it out to you, just them they do it on purpose for divers to compensate for water refraction and look at them incredulously, to impart shame on their ignorance.

·

It must be a Friday afternoon watch . A tad irritating, not the end of the world it’s still a nice one .

·

Yup, it's off. Still a nice piece though.

·

Looks off to me.

·

for me it´s off, also the 40 is clearly off

·

just take a straight edge and if they connect up, it is a bit of optical illusion, if not, you are on to something

·

Can't unsee it now.

·

It’s off - alignment or distortion aside, that would bug me no end.

·

It's not you. Seems like the whole bezel is off. The numbers are centered on the first digit instead of square in the middle.

·

unfortunately, it looks off to me. No optical illusion.

Are you hopefully still within the return window?

·

All my Seiko’s divers are off, just a tad, don’t really notice it, such nice dials I don’t notice the periphery.

The fixed bezels are on though. That would annoy me to no end.

·

It's possible the dial itself is misaligned, maybe not the bezel? I've had this issue with some watches I've built myself.

Maybe I'm over-scrutinizing but it seems to me like the dial is ever so slightly more to the right, not completely center. This would cause that misalignment "illusion" in the bezel. It can happen if the stem is cut a bit too short. Hard to say if that's the issue here obviously, but it is a test of your OCD and how well you can cope with it!

On a separate note...this cuts me deep given I just ordered this watch myself:

Meh, just consider it a Tudor homage.

I'd like to file a hurt feelings report. The Tudor is in fact the homage I say!

**walks away grumbling to himself**

·

Im pretty certain nobody will notice...nice looking watch!

·

What might work, is rotating the bezel so the 12 chevron is just past the indice, and roll it back with some of the play that it has. Seems to work on mine, and I can post pictures if you want! I wrote about the funky bezel action in my review on this watch.

·

I have a Neptune and it aligns. Angle perhaps

·

It’s hard to tell if it’s the distortion of the crystal or if the whole thing is slightly misaligned.

·

Send it back
