Omega Vs. Tudor

It would be hard to put these two against each other and find a consistent winner. Both are excellent in their own right.

Which would you choose, and why?

Omega. I believe in the brand so much I’m up to four, so far. Look at a Seamaster ceramic dial, then look at a BB58 dial. Look at that AT small seconds and tell me what Tudor you want to put up against it. The Railmaster can be the ultimate chameleon, just by swapping straps. And now, next up for the collection, the new white Speedmaster.

Omega. Better horological and better overall in my opinion.

·

I shopped both and chose the BB58. Two reasons, first I already had the Seamaster Diver 300M. Second the Seamaster 300, beautiful it is, doesn’t fit my wrist as well as the BB58.

And third (okay, I lied about two reasons): the BB58 is less expensive than the Seamaster 300.

Both great watches though, so let us know what you decide…and pics when you get it!

Omega have my vote. I love my BB and the looks of their other offerings. However, Omega wins based on diversity. For example, for chronographs Tudor has the BB Chrono, the Heritage Chronograph. Omega does just have the Speedy, but different Speedmasters: The Speedmaster Pro, Racing, Chronoscope, automatic and mechanical. And then the have chronographs in the Seamaster line-up and the Aqua Terra line-up. Yes, Tudor has Metas but Omega did it first. The Seamaster Aqua Terra pretty much made Rolex Milgauss obsolete in term of anti-magnetic sports watch. But both brands are a bang for the buck.

Update: Despite what's above, I prefer my BB to a Seamaster

Whichever has a fixed lug Pelagos.

·

Between the Black Bay 58 and the Seamaster Heritage, I’d pick the SMH - specifically the Summer Blue edition. The sandwich of blue lume and beautifully finished varnished gradient dial is 👨🏽‍🍳😘

·

Omega easily. I don't like most Tudors. Really there is only one that I'd buy. I own one Omega and there are a few models that are at least appealing.

·

Omega hands down. There are 4-5 Omegas I would love to own and Maybe one Tudor. I have the 300 you show in the pictures and every time I go to a Tudor dealer to try on watches they all pale in comparison to it. I am genuinely curious about the FXD but even that doesn’t feel worth the $$. My biggest issue with Tudor is I REALLY don’t like the combination of round Indicies and snowflake hands. The snowflake hands should be limited to the Pelagos line.

·

Omega, all day, every day.

·

This is not a fair fight, Omega is positioned where Tudor hopes to be one day if they can produce some compelling watch complications.

·

As an owner of both Omega and Tudor watches ,two of each brand, I can tell you that the Omega Speedmaster 300 depicted here is on another level of excellence . Both are great watches ,still Omega feels and looks the part .

·

The 58 is one of the best watches for the money. I don't even like small watches but I think I really want one

·

Had the same question, could not decide so I bought ..... (over 3+ years apart)...still want to buy the SMP or 300 in blue next (if I save my $ wisely). They all have their own unique characteristics that I like in a watch. I still tend to wear the SM 300 the most for work and the Tudors on the weekends.

I personally would pick Tudor. I like the idea of a watch company not being influenced by a conglomerate.

·

Love tudor but omega because its more versatile

·

Not fair …..Love Tudor and Omega , I will happily have both and double wrist them :)

It would be Omega for me, pure class and thought through design. Maybe when I grow up and I am a big boy.. I will get one for myself.

Me also :)

The 'bronze bomber'. Ok, I'd love a Railmaster, I must admit. On the hunt....

I think Tudor have the edge on sizing and minimalist design with the BB.

Omega are technically superior... BUT...those omega RRPs are creeping up and up so i don't think it's fair to compare the two directly.

·

Both are fine watches. Omega is a step up in just about every category though. With that said, Tudors are still amazing and typically a price bracket below Omega.

·

I'm a big fan of Tudor, but would prefer the Omega in this case.

What ref. number is that model? Looks gorgeous!

·

I own both watches shown and they are both excellent. The BB 58 is my walking the dog watch. It is very comfortable and has great legibility. The Seamaster 300 is on another level however with great finishing and a classical Omega dial- shark tooth indices and broad arrow hands. The sandwich dial has great depth. Can be a little subdued in low light but is spectacular in bright sunlight like the beach. The omega bracelet is very good too. Pick whichever you like because you can’t really go wrong with either.

To be or not to be? the snowflake v the wart crown - now that is the question 🤨

It’s the current model Seamaster 300 Heritage, the number is as long as a barcode! I’d have to agree with you, the Omega sticks out here in terms of finishing.

I like snowflake hands, but I enjoyed the crown of the previous 2014 version of this model, and the liquimetal bezel insert

I own a Seamaster and a Black Bay. The Omega is more modern but also more expensive. I could not chose a winner, hence why I own both

This is the sense of reason!

·

Omega. It’s another level when it’s on the wrist in comparison to Tudor with finishing and build quality. I don’t know the math on it but I haven’t had to set the time on my Seamaster 300 SMP in five months. It’s four seconds fast. Pretty amazing.

That is phenomenal time keeping!
