📷 Weekly photography thread: Rest & Recreation
@hakki501 and I are resurrecting the weekly photography thread!
We used to run this a couple of months ago but it took a break while we organised the Scavenger Hunt and White Christmas.
How it works:
A theme is picked for each week and everyone can join in and post photographs around that topic.
As well as resulting in some amazing eye-candy for us all to enjoy it's also a chance for people like me to get some tips to up our photography game.

@hakki501 and I take turns in picking our favourites each week, so here are @hakki501s runners up from last time and his comments on each:
@Darkoverlord - loved the story behind his shots. His watch on his band logo was spot on.
@Sinnguy - loved his story of him being a lover of concerts, and his ability to keep in good condition nostalgic items of his past was cool.
@street.credor - loved his creativity of using "Inception" vibe plus BnW.
@IanCognito - his composition (perspective of piano keys + use of BnW), craftsmanship (depth of field, sharpness) was really great. It was trying to tell a story.
And here is what @hakki501 thought of the winning photo:
This is the clear winner since the composition and craftsmanship spoke of how music follows a cadence, just as a watch. What's more, it was as if I was transported to the time of Johann Sebastian Bach, as if I were watching him while he composed his music.
I will post the winning picture in next week's newsletter, but for now let's have fun with this week's theme: Rest & Recreation.

My photo is of me at the theatre a couple of months ago. I love the reflection of the lights in the crystal in this shot.
Really looking forward to seeing the pictures. I've missed this thread! ❤️

Resting in front of the fire with the doggies!
The brown one likes to lick the grey one's face. More specifically, she'll lick at the grey one's eyes... Like, she's licking up the eye goop that builds up on the corners of the grey one's eyes! On the one hand, it's absolutely disgusting! On the other, it's surprisingly sweet that she's grooming her sister so nicely. Dogs... sweet, but disgusting.

It reminds me of when my babies had cradle cap (no idea what you call it in the US, it's basically a scabby crusty scalp that babies get).
I used to love picking that stuff off their heads.

Super cool idea, this might be the thread for me. I've always struggled with storytelling in my composition/elements, but I'm slowly building different ways to set a watch up to tell its story.
But I think these two shots of watches in my collection show what my other hobbies are. Love this idea, hopefully I can participate in more!

Funny thing is I think my last submission was a color photo! In retrospect, adding a Black and White filter might have been a good idea.
