in this instance JLC but I believe my ultimate grail may be the Patek Philippe 5270/1R. If I won the lottery, that and a Porsche 911 Turbo S would be my first "me" purchases.

Both are very nice. Personally, I bought the GS SBGW231 over both of these as I feel it’s the better looking watch. If I had to choose between these 2, I’d take the JLC.

Based on the two options provided here, I'm assuming a dress watch is what you are after. I did not check when writing this but I think it's safe to assume that the Patek has a higher price tag, therefore I think it comes down to what marginal benefits you are getting with the Patek for the premium over the JLC.
