I think he’s clever he’s used this as a vehicle to promote both hinself and his business interests and it’s worked, I also think he had a look at what made Archie luxury initially a thing I.e. controversial opinion and took it to another level as the whole thing is put together as a business with more strategy….. like him or not we are talking about him and in the YouTube community that’s a win.

To be fair. It was the companies/brands he was ranking, not necessarily the products.

He is essence of clickbait distilled and poured into a mold then fired at 350 for several hours to be presented to us as a great golden shite turkey

His schtick is designed to hit emotional triggers, and like a bratty kid, he considers any attention, even negative, is good attention. Best to ignore his bad behaviour.

He's clueless. I think I watched a couple of minutes of a couple of vids he posted a few years ago and haven't been back since. These rankings just show he's all gob and no idea. (someone posted a picture of the rankings, I haven't seen what he said).

Never could take him seriously. He just gives of a bratty, obnoxious vibe that makes him unwatchable and nullifys any value of his thoughts.

What @kbeightyseven said. He's a grey dealer so of course he'd rank watches that he could sell high. Also I think Grand Seiko probably brushed him off when he went to them for a dealership. It's the only thing that would explain his hostility.

I like his videos as an entertainment. I think he’s the polar opposite of Christian from T&H, loud, obnoxious and sometimes shows dirty shoes on camera, lol.

I don’t hate on guys from T&H, I love their content, but sometimes I see Christian as a pretentious prick (mostly when I forget that I am also a pretentious prick)

I don’t think he’s wrong. The general market for the watches you mention above isn’t great. The watches are nice, I agree with you on that. But buy one at retail and try to resell it or trade it up and you may discover the value on resale or trade is truly shite. I take Nico’s ranking as general sentiment not watch nerd rankings.

I can’t understand why people would care what other people think about watch rankings. Even if he was some kind of expert which clearly he’s not his opinions are his and like him everyone has their own. Doesn’t he yell or is that someone else? I’m not a fan regardless.

Most rankings are largely subjective (unless quantifiable eg which brands have the most sales…), so really one man’s shit is another man’s grail lol.

It's almost like most people commenting didn't actually watch the video/missed/purposely ignored the parts where he explains his rationale.

I watched it in full with my wife...both of us commenting back at the TV when Nico said stupid stuff or self-serving garbage. Did y'all miss when he said that Omega was a "copy" brand? What kind of nonsense is that? Clearly he was seeking to wind people up with that stupid remark.

I took it to mean that they're basically just copying and pumping out derivatives of the same watch (i.e. Speedmaster special editions). He also said that you can't go wrong with Omega and would buy.

That said, he does say some oddball things from time to time...as do we all.

He's an entertainer first and a watch enthusiast second. I say that half-heartedly as he seems to know his stuff (we all would seem to with edited videos), but he is going for reactions and what he can sell/hype in the store. It is easy to crap on brands he know he can't quickly flip for profit. Thankfully, he is easy to ignore. :-)

I think the guy is a bit of a joker but I'm watching and I'll list everything I disagree with.

• Nomos is ranked way too highly. If they had bad style, they'd be interesting but they have no style.

• I wouldn't buy Swatch

• Moser is class, Tudor is meh.

• I'd bump Hermes higher. MB&F is shite.

Otherwise I'm amazed at how agreeable I find his analysis.

I like watching him for the pure entertainment value; and I strongly disagree with him on many of the things he says. But he always brings a smile to my face, even when he's trashing some of my favorite watches (Invicta.) 😎 But at least we agree on Casio! 🤣

But when I want serious watch videos, where I might learn something cool and/or technical about watches, I go to Teddy B's channel. 😎 I will always be grateful to Teddy for introducing me to RGM, despite the fact that I will never be able to afford one. The video where he went to their manufacturing facility was AWESOME and very informative! 😎

He is but not because he mis-ranked Blancpain or any of the other expensive brands.

He is because of his online personality which I simply can't stand (See the used car salesman reference here). But that's a minor peeve.

I think he is a useless bag because he repeatedly fail to acknowledge the greatness of Spaghetti Scameti, the only brand bringing you affordable luxury over the bodies of countless eliminated middlemen.
