Here's what's left on The Wall of Dreams...

So, the past couple of years have been very very good to me (and to the collection). However, there are always watches left on the Wall of Dreams including new entrants occasionally.

Here are the main items on the Wall of Dreams...some might happen within a year or two...and some will never happen (sometimes because of availability not because of price).

What's on your Wall of Dreams?

A. Lange Sohne - this one has been on The Wall a very long time - I almost purchased this watch several times - the price just keeps going up and up...

Image

Heuer Carrera (either the vintage 1960s 18k gold with gold bracelet or the new glassbox 18k gold but with a gold bracelet instead of black rally strap)

Image

Rolex - believe it or not - the new 1908 has caused a Rolex to appear on The Wall

Image

Movado - just can't find this one...if you have it for sale...let me know...especially if it's on a Gay Freres ladder bracelet...

Image
Image

Grand Seiko - I had the chance to buy this one during Covid and passed because I didn't want to visit the boutique - missed opportunity...

Image

Grand Seiko - I really really want this one in platinum but I need to convince the wife - she has said no twice already - I already pissed her off with the Cartier Tank Cintree so I probably need to let it cool down a bit...but by then it may be long gone (could be gone already)...

Image
Image

Another A. Lange Sohne - I drooled over this one again at Watches & Wonders...such an amazing watch...

Image
Image

J.N. Shapiro - no chance of this happening anytime soon...one of my buddies is on the order book for this one...I think I'd probably give up the rest of the list for this one...

Image
Image
Image

Universal Geneve - the Nina Rindt - my hope is Breitling reissues this one in a modern size...

Image

Kurono Tokyo - missed this one when it was released - definitely don't want to pay the secondary market price even if you could find one...

Image

Steinhart - wish I could find one of these - not expensive but no where to be found - if you have one for sale...let me know...

Image

And this one, which was another recent addition, may come off The Wall sooner than later...watch this space...

TAG Heuer - this would be my first Tourbillon...not a fan of Tourbillons...but this green dial is awesome and here the Tourbillon really works with the dial design...

Image

So that's mostly what's on the wall barring a few other odds and ends.

What's on your Wall of Dreams?

Some real solid picks for your wall, Mel! The 1815 Chrono is nuts. Beautiful.

That 1908 looks great in blue but I’m more drawn to the simplicity of the white. Either color, It’s a fine looking watch!

Image

That Movado is slick, too! 😎

·

The only manual wind Luminor with a date just happen to have a lot of other cool functions. Would love to pick one of these up in a few years.

·

These 3 are on my wall. I hope not to add more watches! 😅

Great choices to have on The Wall! Thanks for sharing.

·

My wife asked me to stop buying watches until I can find one that doesn't look like something already in my watch box. She nixed the Certina and just about all Seikos for now. Anyway, I've been infatuated with this Cartier Drive (discontinued but trading too high)

Image

and this unloved Longines (like Seiko, Longines prices tend to move significantly about a year after release).

Image

I think I can get sign off on these models (if the bonus gods are kind!).

·

I would not post any watches I am dreaming about as to have them is unrealistic for me, but I agree with you on Rolex 1908 - the only Rolex I would like to have. It was a nice surprise to see this model in their collection.

·

A few Nomos:

The Club Sport either in Tabak or in Petrol. Did not have a chance to see the Tabak in person, yet.

Image

The Lambda😍

Image

The PSR

Image

The Bel Canto

Image

And a custome Dornblüth & Sohn and of course some smaller purchases😉

·

Some amazing pieces there…if I had to become a one-watch-guy, that salmon dial Lange perpetual would very much ease the pain of saying goodbye to the rest of the collection :) Grail with a capital G.

My wall of dreams (aka the keep on dreaming wall :)

1973 Omega Constellation, have not found the right one yet:

Glashütte Panomatic Lunar:

Glashütte sixties:

JLC Geographic (first gen):

Image

Hoping to find the GOs and the JLC for a reasonable second hand price somewhere in the upcoming years 🙃

Great post Mel!

I share the lust for those GSs on your wall. That green and gold and pt. Birch are both stunning. I’m hoping to buy direct or commission something from the micro studio, at some point.

1908 pt also a solid choice. I dislike the all powerful god king Wilsdorf company, but I like the look of that watch 👌

Kurono Mori - I thought for a split second I should sell you mine (since I don’t wear it enough)… but it’s too beautiful ! and I love the effort and hours a traditional artist put into that dial . It’s a keeper!

Image

My wall… hmm. don’t know what I want!

Mostly watches that don’t exist, except in my mind.

A lumed Vantablack moser pioneer

A svelte retro GS diver with the power of Seiko LX lume, in Ti

Horage - oversized balance wheels at 18k beat, or a multi axis tourbillon

… and many more designs in my head that don’t exist in reality 😂

·

First ones that come to mind 🤷

Classy wall Mel, as always. My "obtainable" wall for near future:

1.) JLC Polaris chrono

Image

Was deciding between Speedy and this one last year, grabbed Speedy first as good opportunity was presented. Still don't know if it will replace the Speedy or be as addition to collection. Drastic price increase in last year or so also doesn't help.

2.) Breguet Tradition 7097 ( or earlier versions in same case material and dial/movement color )

Image

My "grail" for many years. Had the trigger on it few times but always pulled back as I don't know how much wrist time it would get, hence can't really justify that sum of €€€ sitting in box and waiting for appropriate occasion.

And the dream watches ( you never know ):

1.) ALS Datograph up/down 405.035

Image

My ultimate grail, would replace all my watches for this one.

2.) VC Overseas Everest chronograph

Image

or even better

3.) VC 222 ( would prefer in WG, Platinum or best Ti )

Image

Ultimate IB design sport watches. If 222 was in Ti no brainer choice between the two.

4.) AP Code 11.59 chronograph WG

Image

Love at first sight/release. With every next iteration it's getting better and better. Would prefer this over RO any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

That Cartier is pretty cool!

·

Lot of fantastic watches above. Many way out of my reach. Two that might fit the wallet in the future are

Patek Weekly Calender

Image

And

Lange 1815 Up Down

Image
·

Great list. Most of it trades below RRP. So after market is my recommendation. In order to minimize loss if mistakes happened.

My wall is empty for now, as I went wild recently. I need to slow down.

·

A tourbillon from Breguet. A grand Lange 1 in rose gold. A patek world timer. Ooooh

What did you get Faisal?!

·
Daddypig

What did you get Faisal?!

Most recent is a Cartier, vintage Seiko, tow Rolexes, an AP, and Seiko tuna under delivery.

I might enjoy having Breguet classique 7147 enamel dial, but no hard itch yet.

Spectacular Wall! I fully endorse your dreams. Thanks for sharing - those are great choices to aspire to own.
