How many watches did/do you have to adjust?

Really appreciating my GShock today as it updates on its own. But that still leaves me with 8 other watches I need to adjust by an hour because of Daylight Savings Time.

I know we have some folks in here with much more substantial collections than mine. I’m curious, who here is dealing with the hour loss, and how many watches will you be adjusting today?

I did a tour of Mt. Vernon in Virginia yesterday, and I found the perfect place for the concept of DST.

I decided not to adjust all my quartz… since I’m lazy .. I’ll just treat them like all my mechanical watches adjust it when I wear them for the day 🍻

I did adjust 3 wall clocks though…

My Wrist post this morning..... My G and Galaxy were spot on. Not so the remaining 10.

·

Too many to think about doing in one day. I'll just adjust them as I wear them. 😆

Probably the proper approach.

·

everytime i want to used them lol, so i guess one everyday since most of my watch are mechanical. i always hate when its time to adjust my g shock, i always forgot how to adjust them

·

I did all 12 of my watches, three of my wife’s watches, my daughter’s watch and 7 clocks around the house.

·

Only the 6 digitals that I own because some can be a PITA so I get them out of the way.

The rest as I wear them.

The wall clocks!

Thanks for reminding me. Desk clock too. Sigh.

·

So… with close to 60 watches in my collection, I adjusted only the one I am wearing today. I treat the rest like manual wind watches, because functionally speaking, they may as well be. That even includes my quartz watches without auto DST, like the Hamilton PSR. I just can’t justify chasing down that many watches for accuracy. But… YMMV.

·

Easy pick what time piece I will be wearing adust to correct time done 👍

·

I adjust my watch when I wear it. Otherwise don't care.

Cheers!

·

I mentioned to my wife last night, as I was going all over the house adjusting clocks, I said "whoever invented this time change business certainly was not a clock and watch collector"LOL

I only adjusted the eight watches I keep on winders but still a pain...LOL Have a terrific day..

·

I was staying in a room with a lot of metal in it so my trusty MB6 g shock didn't auto update! I just adjust them as I go, so do that as I wear them, so far I'm up to 2.

·

Just wall clocks and thermostats, though some of those autoadjust, Watches? Adjust them as they get worn. Makes for some interesting adjustments. What? I haven't worn this in X months? 😉

What kind of enthusiasts are you all if you don’t want to spend all morning setting dozens of clocks and watches?

In a display of true horological enthusiasm, I spent the morning setting 9 wall, appliance, and desk clocks, 12 analog quartz watches, 13 digital quartz watches, and one mechanical watch. A couple G-Shocks self updated.

There is something very satisfying about seeing rows of digital watches all perfectly synced up, even if it is temporary.

Just the one I'm about to wear. They get done eventually.

I don't think anyone noticed what I did when I originally posted this pic of my new watch box a week or two ago. We think alike, sir. 🤝

Nice work!

·

So many clocks. I started at the bottom of the house and ended at the top. As for the watches…well that will be over time.

·

I lucked out with my small collection (6). I'm travelling soon, so my mechanicals (2) are unwound and set at 10:10, my G-Shock M5610 adjusted itself, my Victorinox got (accidently?) set 1-hour ahead when I set it at the start of the month, and my other two quartz watches were each +5s, so I quickly moved each ahead and had them set in a few seconds.

What kind of enthusiast are you to judge others for not dropping all to set their watches today?

Not sure if you're being serious, but if anyone is actually unsure, that was most definitely a joke. Setting that many watches is a chore for even the most enthusiastic enthusiast.

This shows dedication, and your collection looks great.

At any given moment, none of my watches are in sync. My mechanical watches are mostly not running since I only wind and wear them one at a time. My quartz watches are somewhat in sync, but the dates are usually off for the ones that I don't wear as much.

·

I reset watches just before I wear them.

Thanks for the kind words. 🤝

That down-to-the-second synchronization was just for that watch box pic, as it was new and gave the watches much needed space in between. I thought why not synchronize them for a pleasing aesthetic for the pic while I'm at it?

I let my mechanical watches wind down between wearings. My quartz watches are very close to NIST time and the date has to be correct on any running watch.

love the green ones!!

·

I live in Arizona, and if I weren't currently on a dang business trip, I wouldn't have had any to adjust at all.

·

2 out of 18 watched and both were #casio. The rest are mechanical or automatic that only get adjusted the night before they are worn.

·

Way too many…but I only do the automatics when I put them on…the quartz ones I do at time change.

·

2, the one I'm wearing and my one and only quartz. The others I set when I wear them again.
