The One Watch Challenge
A few weeks ago @TimexBadger posted that he was considering wearing just one of his 60+ watches for the month of June to see if he could. He subsequently came to his senses and retreated to a more reasonable position.
That got me thinking, could most of us wear just one watch for a lengthy period of time? I am sure that most of you are like me, once upon a time we thought nothing of wearing the same watch for years on end. Then something changed and we now wear multiple watches per month, week, or day.
Here is the incentive: Watch Crunch swag. A while back @Omeganut got some swag for lending out one of his museum quality Grand Seikos for a review. This was the first indication that WC swag existed. @Max has agreed to send swag to the winner of the challenge.
Here are the rules:
- The contest is open to all collectors with seven (7) or more watches. Why that number? Well, below that number you have already demonstrated sufficient self-control. You have already passed the marshmallow test.
- You must wear the watch at least eight (8) hours a day during normal business hours. Some of you are weirdos who sleep in your watches. That time doesn't count.
- You must post a wrist shot each day of you wearing your watch to WRUW with the notation "1WC Day One" etc.
- Honor code. Obviously, Big Brother isn't watching you.
- Starts on June 10, 2022
The last one standing gets the swag.
This contest works against every collector instinct. Most won't participate. The rest will drop soon. I have two watches being delivered this week. The temptation to wear them may be too great. My will power is not legendary.
I put the start date off for you to think about it.
Edit: Strap swapping is allowed. Schwartzkopfing (double wristing) is not allowed.

Some people have posted the 1WC the 9th according to their timezone as the 10th for WatchCrunch might be at a different local hour. Just sayin'.

@JesseJ Ginza Alpinist, I do wear a g shock for 1 hour at the gym though nearly every day.
@Aurelian you should start a 1WC moonlighting page to see if folks are getting a temporary fix in the evenings after they‘ve served their time for the day. Not that that’s what I’ve been doing…..
