Are you ready to be De-Influenced the @Porthole and @Aurelian way? (Blame @Deeperblue for the inspiration.) The premise is this: suggest a watch model. We will post the reasons that you should not buy one suggestion that we select in a post next week.
A couple of things to consider: our knowledge of any watch may be limited, we will give you unvarnished and honest opinions, and someone's feelings may be hurt. (I also reserve the right to take gratuitous swipes at @Edge168n 's hideous Cartier Roadster.) Even if we like a watch, we will give you the Devil's Advocate reasons not to buy it.

I want a Tudor Black Bay 58 black and gilt, I dare you to convince me this is a bad move.
If the first one isn't the Cartier Roadster Chrono XL, I'm going to be insulted.
But if we're going to make people who actually care angry.....I'll offer two.
The Omega Aqua Terra. The one GADA watch to rule them all is completely overrated and who wants to own something that is perpetually chasing down the Rolex Datejust?
The Tudor BB58. Because faux rivets and snowflake hands on circular gilt markers are a crime against watch design.

I am thinking that one of the tests for any watch in this series will be: is it better than a Cartier Roadster Chrono XL? It's a pretty low bar to pass over.

How many more times… you need to stop buying watches. I will say this, it’s nice to see you lust after something that isn’t a Seiko, but my goodness you need to wear a watch more than 5 mins before deciding it’s too old. You’re like the Leonardo DiCaprio of watch consumers, by the time the watch runs through it’s first power reserve it’s too old for you.
