Redundant?

Hey Tudor fans. Just looking for your opinions if you think  these two can coexist in one collection. I realize that if the 39 is worn on a bracelet there is a bigger difference, yet I am a pretty big fan of both on straps.

I don’t see why they couldn’t coexist, no different really to having a BB 41 and a BB58. Both different watches, wear differently and you can see there with the two Pelagos’s the differences in their dials.

Great point. Appreciate it.

Don't think as them as part of a collection but as two great watches and wear them a lot ,both great watches

·

One is black and one is blue soooo different in my book … 😉

·

Yup 👍

Yup 👍

Sorry, Yup they can coexist or yup they are redundant? My mistake on asking 2 questions in the post title and post.

Are you asking the people on this forum???  You know the answer will be hit the gas not the brake

I suppose you could be right, but I hope most would not have a biased opinion.

There are people with 20 black dialed vintage Seiko divers, you're fine with a big blue and a little black Tudor. 🤷‍♂️

At least until the Pelagos 39 blue comes out 🤯

·

I personally find them redundant. Both no date Tudor pelagos. I think the FXD is more badass and would opt to keep that one over the 39, but that's just my personal preference. I'm big on diversity within the watch collection, so I personally don't like having anything similar, let alone two of the same brand.

Lol. That would mess things up for sure.

·

One is big and blue, the other black and little. Totally different things to me.

·

Several collections out there with multiple submariners that share more things alike than either of these two. 🤙

·

For sure, they’re different enough with the color, size, bezels, fixed lugs plus they’re both 🔥 I would keep them both…but I probably have too many divers.

·

They cannot coexist in the same collection. The FXD HAS TO GO!!!  I will do you a favor and take it off your hands for $3000 and you can be done with this heresy! DM me.

·

Really depends if one of them stops you from wearing the other

·

Looks fine to me. 😀

·

Seems redundant to me. I have the P39mm, I had the 42mm Black, I sold the 42mm. I think whatever floats your boat—for me they were redundant. I can see though with blue face (FXD) you can argue for them both.

·

different colors & sizes.  no overlap other than brand.  Keep 'em (unless you don't like the 42 anymore, in which case drop it like a hot rock)!

·

If you enjoy both and wear them then yes why not.

I'd probably get bored and sell one eventually.

·

Similar yes… But the dials are different colors. Seems you can rock both.

·

Not redundant...Black and Blue can be paired with different types of clothing. I would not wear a black dialed watch with a blue shirt, and vice versa. They are complimentary. I love many of the watches that Tudor produce...but that smiley face logo....I can't stop seeing it.

·

How dare you exercise your right to choice of ownership. Relinquish one to me…and I will pass it along to the proper authorities.

·

Of course! Blue and Black dial watches that you love. Both live well together

·

If dive watches are your thing, there is no reason why you can't own both in one collection.

·

Not redundant for the reasons stated already. Plus, this is a dangerous question here.  Take it far enough (depending on what you mean) and isn’t more than 1 three hand watch/ 1 diver/ 1 chrono/ or 1 watch redundant?  Its almost the definition of collecting that we own/ collect many redundant things that are all similar to each other (and each of which we appreciate for their subtle and not so subtle differences)

Very well said.

Is the FXD an MN21 or MN22? I think the 21s w be rarer come the future considering it was released w only a few months left to 2021

·

Mine is a 22 but it really isn’t much of a consideration for me. I am more the type to keep a watch if I will use it But I do see your point. It may have been nice to keep something so special.

·

I think both are great, keep them both if money isn't an issue. Put the pelagos 39 on the braclet and enjoy the fxd. It's so unique!
