Brand new Tudor North Flag!!!

After searching about 20 stores throughout Tokyo, I found a brand new Tudor North Flag for sale at kame kichi in nakano Broadway. I honestly couldn't believe my luck!

For those less familiar, this model was discontinued in 2021 by Tudor, presumably due to poor sales, but has the very interesting history of being their first watch with the in house calibre MT5621 and also first watch with an exhibition case back.

My whole watch search started after I had to send my beloved nomos ahoi in for service in July and I realized my wrist just doesn't feel the same without a mechanical watch.

Knowing I had this trip to Tokyo coming up I dove deep into watches searching for another GADA to switch on and off with my nomos, and also to have to ensure if one of these watches has to go into service again, my wrist will have a capable companion.

I was honestly worried I wouldn't find the north flag because it's been discontinued for so long, but almost as I was giving up, I found it in one of the last stores I had yet to visit in the famed nakano Broadway mall. I must have looked at tens of thousands of watches here in Tokyo before finally finding it!!

Even better, I didn't realize when I saw it that it is actually brand new - purchased in 2022 from an AD, but never sized and, by the way it looks, never worn. The sticker on the case back was still on when I checked it out!

In the midst of this search, I was offered a new job that I will likely take, so not only will this watch commemorate my trip to Tokyo, but it will now also celebrate my new job!

This model really got the short end of the stick. I seriously don't see what's not to love about it!

·

Many congrats on both the new job and the incredible watch that is the North Flag. Wish I could find a new one! Wear it in great health!!

Amazing find. Congrats on a heck of a day.

🦾🦾🦾 North Flag

Real lucky find mate. Tudor's first watch with the in-house movement. Lose the see-through caseback, dial and hand-set. Ahhh and the integrated bracelet. Prefer this over the ranger. No faux patina and design not overly borrowed from Rolex.

In my area, very hard to find used, let alone new.

Congrats on the purchase, enjoy.

That's a cool watch, and congratulation for the new job.

Congratulations! Welcome to the TNF Club 😊

Amazing. The North Flag is the only watch from Tudor that I ever considered to buy.

·

Huge find! Congrats 🍾

·

Your patience paid off. Congratulations.

Nice - and to think everyone bought the Black Bay even though they’d been asking Tudor to make a watch like the North Flag.

The market did Tudor dirty in that regard (not in terms of bottom-line, more in terms of direction, but I doubt they are complaining), the North Flag deserved better…

Congratulations great find and sounds like a very successful trip, wear it in good health!

For watch lovers, Tokyo is paradise. I also acquired this DJ when I was there last week (my U.S. local AD has been trying to acquire this model for me for almost two years to no avail)

Love this one. It's like when Netflix inexplicably cancel a great series.

·

Wow great find! I am also looking for this for 2 years without success. :/

Lucky fellow, that's by far the best Tudor imho! Love it, congratulations 🎉👏🏻

Wow great find! I am also looking for this for 2 years without success. :/

ooooh good luck!! Perhaps try messaging some Ebayers from Japan! They may list their product as "used", but it may actually just be NOS for resale. There is a bit of a different culture in what the Japanese consider "new" and "used" I discovered.

That’s a thing of beauty - nice find

·

Love the North Flag, really want one myself.

Congrats. The North Flag very much lives up to Tudor’s motto. I won’t get one, but It’s a very unique watch; and one that looks more fitting of the “sports watch” description. The only thing i would change is the integrated bracelet style. I think have normal lungs would balance the case out, as integrated bracelet models only really reward those who go for the midsize option (if one is available). The caseback is a nice touch, but not necessary. But if you’re a watch nerd, it’s nice to be able to see historical things like that without worried about messing up the watch by popping the hood.

P.S. It also feels a bit near-futuristic in Black Ops 2 way, if you get what i mean.

P.P.S. Maybe the only thing that’s missing are crown guards? 🤔
