Any Love For Casio Edifice Watches?

I have been looking at some Casio Edifice watches but I wanted to come here and seek the wisdom of my fellow Crunchers to see what are your experiences, pros/cons and all that jazz.

Thanks in advance for the help!๐Ÿ‘

I've been studying them online and want to find some in the wild form further discovery

I think they're mostly over looked but I really like them. The bracelets are very comfortable, great dials that are highly legible, sapphire crystal, and the seconds hand hits every mark. It's very impressive considering the low price point.

I havent found one that suit my wrist size and my liking.

Shockingly comfy bracelets for the price. Bling racing watches on a budget

ยท

The only con I think of is that they are still big. If you want the full Casio tech experience, the Edifice and Oceanus collections, and the Lineage line are the ones to go for.

These two are my favorite, especially the silver dial

ยท

Very underated. As with G-Shock, the dials can get very complicated.

I haven't seen one I've liked enough to buy yet, but I'll probably get one eventually. They've been on a bit of a Genta "homage" kick, and that's not my thing at the moment.

Pictured, my Europe-sourced Edifice.

Like many mid to higher end Casios, maybe look to limiteds and Asian market releases for their newest, best, and most colorful pieces. I feel that while many Edifices sport tired designs for bracelets, cases, and/or faces, or have decreased specs (mineral not sapphire, battery not solar, thick not thin, no perpetual calendar, etc), there are also many fine exceptions and very nice partial exceptions that I find nearly as exciting. Edifices come in many, many varieties, and you'd do well to narrow your search by the tech and/or design you want, then to set aside some time to try a few out in person before committing if possible.

Not for me...can't get past that horrible logo...very offputting...

ยท

Been eyeing one for a while, but canโ€™t bring myself to pull the trigger. I think it has something to do with the design language, as I prefer more classical design

They offer a good value for money, mine sits on the wrist comfortably.

I have tried an EFV-100D and the bracelet feel was good, conforming to my wrist. Very nice watch, just found it a bit too wide for a 3 hander on my 6.5 inch wrist.

I always check the new models, the value proposition is very good.

Hey Eric,

I recently picked up a Casio Edifice EFV-100D and I love it. The bracelet is comfortable, the case is thin and the dial is attractive to look at and the burst of color in the seconds hand is appreciated.

The main downsides are: 1) the 40mm diameter is on the larger end for my 6.3โ€ wrist, I would have preferred a 36-38mm. This seems to be an issue with a lot of Edifice watches, just like Citizen watches, they tend to be on the bigger side of the spectrum. 2) Mineral crystal, not really an issue for me but the watch shipped with a small scratch on itโ€™s face ๐Ÿ˜ข. Not big enough for me to bother doing a return/replacement but I do notice it when under bright lights. 3) Discontinued, the EFV 110D/110D are some of the best value Casio Edifice watches but theyโ€™re largely discontinued and itโ€™s now rather difficult to find them. I would have personally preferred the smaller 110D but I could only find the larger 100D available brand new.

Hope this was helpful, which Edifice model are you looking at?

I like the Edifice line a lot. They start from around 150 chf to around 400-500 chf. They have simple dials as well as complicted anit/digi stuff, the more expenisve one even come with solar. The cheaper ones however can come with folded links and mineral glass, this didnt bother me however. And I never heard/read someone complaining about them.

I have two, the EFV 100D, an apparent favourite here on WC and the EF-527D.

If you dont have to try them on or buy them in person, you can find them with nice discounts on the internet.

I finally got one recently, and I'm quite happy with it. Casio doesn't get close to the credit they deserve for their analog watches. The attention to detail and execution are excellent, particularly for the price range involved. That's beyond true for something like the amazing Oceanus T200, but also for my new Edifice EFR-S108D-2AVUEF, which is clearly produced under stricter budgetary limits yet still looks great.

Image

Example: My Oceanus cost about $350-$400 grey market and is finished at a level usually accepted for watches costing a grand+. My Edifice cost well below $200 and is finished to an equivalent/better level than similarly-priced affordables from entry-luxury brands like Tissot. (At least in terms of the case. The bracelet is definitely the "cheap part" of the overall design, but very convincingly finished and matches well.) Casio makes a lot of compromises to keep the bulk of their watches aggressively affordable, but they choose those compromises so well. Everything I've handled has had great QC, accurate handsets, comfortable wear, and unique, crisp finishes. Full recommend.

Efv-100d here too. Works well on my 7.5" wrist. Mineral crystal though.
