Acrylic - issue or non-issue?

For the last couple of years my daily wearer had a sapphire glass. I recently received my Lorier Astra and because it has Hesalite crystal, I wonder w...

Finally the Astra has landed!

After my unsuccessfully attempt to buy it at release, I preordered it and today it finally arrived. I really enjoy the aesthetics of this watch!

The most important question: Do you set your F-91W to 24h or AM/PM mode?

My advice, I would try every watch on and then let your hearth decide. Personally I would go with the BB58, but I am biased 🙂

Welcome!

Nice collection - I think my favorite piece is the Seiko (second row, on the right).

How do you like the Brew? I am thinking to get one..

Yes I know, but I think you have to be very high level to get a use out of it. But the Bongcloud is 1. e4 e5 and not 1. e4 e6 followed by 2. Ke3

I have checked 1. e4 e6 2. Ke3 Was only played 3 times by top players, compared to 2. d4 over 156 tausand times 😄 (source: chess.com explorer).

What is your rating? Would you like to have a match?

2. Ke2 is weird 😅

I would play as black now 2... d5 😁

commented on Homage or Not?: The Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT ·

I was asking me the same question couple of months ago, and I answered it with "no". To be honest, I don't like homage watches (which are often just 1:1 replicas with a different logo). But besides the white / orange color scheme and the GMT complication with a fixed bazel, you don't have that much similarities. Hand set, size, date window, indices, markings on the bazel are all different, to name a few.

For me it is a watch of its own, with inspiration, but with it's own identity.

I really enjoy this watch since day one, and is currently (next to my BB58) my most worn piece.

Even if I would like to spend the money for a Rolex, it is to big, to loud and I wouldnt wear 10k watch as GADA, because of the potential theft risk.

I don't need more than one minute to set my watch, even with a caller GMT.

I am confident that even the pilot can spend this time to set his watch, while travelling to a different time zone. 😄 Therefore I don't see any reason for this ongoing topic of caller GMT are not for travelling.

I would check out Christopher Ward.
