The Caller GMT
I'm seeing the use case for a caller GMT. I work remotely with people in different time-zones. It's great to be able to change GMT to one of their time-zones, without affecting my own time. On a travel GMT I'd probably just use the rotating bezel. It's nice to use the GMT hand though, and I can reserve the rotating bezel for either a third time zone or for timing things.
For anyone that saw my previous post, I was able to exchange my blue bezel for this black/grey one at Macys online. This one actually came with the warranty card and all of the protective stickers. It did not come with a manual though. Not a necessity, but still disappointing for a new watch. Might be looking at other Seiko dealers in the future.

Whilt it's seen as inferior by some, a caller suits my purposes more than a 'true GMT'. I have more use for it for the same reason you do and I live in GMT. It doesn't stop me wanting both.

People seem to dismiss the caller as inferior. Maybe they're cheaper to produce? But seems to have as much of a use as a 'true GMT'.

I travelled for years with what people now call a "caller GMT" and always knew what time it was in both time zones. It makes me wonder how much the complainers actually travel and if they've ever tried using a "caller GMT" as a travel watch. I think some people just need something to complain about.

I also found it more useful. Even if I were traveling, I'd use the GMT hand and keep the main hands for my home zone.
I don't need more than one minute to set my watch, even with a caller GMT.
I am confident that even the pilot can spend this time to set his watch, while travelling to a different time zone. 😄 Therefore I don't see any reason for this ongoing topic of caller GMT are not for travelling.
So I’ve never owned a three time-zone GMT, but wouldn’t it be easiest to set the GMT hand to GMT time and the main hands to home time and just use the rotating bezel for the time zone you’re in while traveling abroad ?

That's the intended use, specifically for pilots. Most people don't need to track GMT though so you open yourself up for different time zones and using the bezel for either timezone tracking or as a timer.
