Gen 1 Planet Ocean vs. Outerknown SuperOcean

Having a hard time picking between these two for a daily beater type tool watch. I would wear both on cloth or rubber. Opinions?

For me? Omega. As ever, YMMV. Both are nice though.

·

Planet Ocean & it's not even close...

·

Superocean would look better in a rubber imo

·

Omega, again.

·

Omega

·

Both choices are great for what you are after. The Breitling looks sportier.

·

Whilst there’s no doubting their pedigree, I find myself not connecting with omega, but do breitling. So there’s my leaning I guess

·

Omega on design alone…not even close for me

·

It's the Gen 1 PO for me, hands down

Its an extremely underrated watch that'll absolutely go up in value, and to me is prettier than the Gen ll.

Ive got the chrono with the black dial and bezel and orange Arabic numerals at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 on a black rubber strap with matching orange stitching and it looks fantastic.

Either of these will make a nice beater for you

Omega by far

Which means that both watches pictured are a reach financially to most people. I think you mean daily wearer not beater.

Of the two pictured Omega gets my vote

IMHO, A beater would be something to knock about say a Duro.

That being said I am wearing my Omega as a daily.

Superocean 👌🏻

I support both brands, have much better experience with Breitling with regards to warranty and servicing but that is probably different in different communities. The Omega PO is more expensive to own, not sure about the MSRP of the Breitling. For whatever reasons I have been unable to pull the trigger on the PO, on two occasions I opted for a GS, on the 3rd chose an Omega Seamaster heritage. I reached out to my ad for a ceramic PO GMT but he said it would be a 12 week wait since they do not have one in stock. Some watches defy ownership.

·

For me I'd pick the planet ocean without a doubt as it's prettier and more versatile:)

·

Check out the black - orange planet ocean on non metal matching straps - try it in the store and you will have your answer

·

No real competition for me. Omega all day every day.

·

Omega

·

I like both, I also looking for one of these as my next watch.

Either the Planet Ocean with a white dial and orange bezel, on a bracelet, or a Superocean in orange or yellow.

·

Omega Planet Ocean, no question.

·

My head says omega, my heart says breitling

·

I don’t resonate well with modern Omega. It seems like something is missing for me on each design- the PO included. Ultimately I respect the brand but don’t love the designs (outside of 70’s/80’s Seamaster and Constellation).

Breitling though… I LOVE. Almost all designs except for the cobranded Top Time. The gen of superocean you show is lovely and I advocate for that.

Agree with Wexter, get a duro, Gshock, oceanus or a watch you can call a real beater. Preferably quartz then. Both displayed watches are nice as daily, I gravitate to the Breitling due to cost of ownership and being less conmon.

In Brietling I think the B01 is sweet; look at the Manero Carl F. Bucherer

If you want a Brietling, Watchbox is selling tons of them. I work with "Max."

Omega is so far ahead in every metric - would definitely go with it. The Breitling is really nice, if a tad big if this is the 44mm varient, and arguably would wear better on a rubber or cloth strap, but that is the only metric I'd say it would beat the Omega.

·

I’ve had a Gen 1 since they came out and it gets more wrist time than anything else in my collection. Certainly historically and it became a “go to” watch when you can’t think of something else to wear. 😁

·

Planet Ocean. Better looking & it's an Omega.

·

Omega all day everyday. It has the superior movement and finishing.

This is my Gen-1 PO. I've added several divers to the collection since this watch including a Seamaster 300 professional, a Panerai 1950, and a Sea Dweller 43. I've contemplated selling the PO a few times but it's such a gorgeous watch I can bring myself to do it.

Love the green Breitlings. Thinking of buying the green Chronomat. Also love the older breitling logo. The Superocean looks cooler and tougher.

The Omega looks like a nerds watch. It is too clean and stiff. The breitling will also look better than the Omega after they get a few scratches.

I'd go for the Omega, more bang for your buck in my opinion. Like it more
