Having a hard time picking between these two for a daily beater type tool watch. I would wear both on cloth or rubber. Opinions?

I have a VHP GMT and love it but am very concerned about long term support from Longines. Both in servicing of the watch and upkeep of the app, which already does not include compatibility listing for the newest iPhone models. Are these watches going to end up in the scrap heap at some point?
