How I got my Sea Dweller at MSRP.

This is a long-ish post, so skip to the TLDR at the end if you don't want the details. There's 3 Rolex ADs where I live, and I don't have any purchase...

Can't stand it, wouldn't wear it if I'd been given one for free.

LOVE the FXD.

Despite having too many divers in my collection already I keep opening up this page and looking wistfully at both the blue and the black variants.

The only thing stopping me is that the watches in my collection don't get enough rotation as it is.

GMT all day long my, man.

I love my SD43 to death and would choose it over a Sub all day long, but the Pepsi is my grail.

Wear what you like. That's all that matters

Here's a couple of tips, for what they're worth.

  1. Don't make your decisions based on the published dimensions. Sometimes a larger watch is surprisingly wearable on a smaller wrist.

  2. Also, while the conversation is usually about wrist size, what's equally important is wrist width.

1. Sea Dweller SD43 (bought 2023)

2. PAM 1359 (bought 2022)

3. Seamaster 300 Professional (bought 2021)

4. Planet Ocean (Gen 1) Chrono (bought 2016)

I love them all and rotate them frequently, but admittedly I often wonder if that's too many divers. Can't bring myself to sell any of em though.

I've got an SD43 as well and I see it living on the bracelet just because anything else will throw the balance off. The stock oyster bracelet actually makes it comfortable on my wrist.

My PO and SM300 Pro live on various rubber and nato straps, but the SD43 just doesn't seem to work with anything other than the bracelet.

You're right about this... It's certainly got a heft to it. Having said that, I wear my PAM 1359 everyday, and it doesn't bother me.

I rotate between my PAM, SM300, PO Gen-1 chrono and the SD43 when I'm out of the house, which isn't every day.

Also, apropos of nothing, the Sub date was available alongside the SD43, and I chose the SD.
