What would you buy?

You have $10k to spend on an everyday watch. What are you buying? Can be gray market.

Since its an everyday watch, I'm gonna go with the Omega speedy on strap

"$10k" and "everyday". That raises interesting security questions, in London at any rate, given how rampant theft of recognisable watches is. The theft is increasingly enabled by security guards, front of house staff, bar tenders, maître ds and concierges who spot a luxury watch and tip off a gang of muggers who then give them a share of the proceeds.

So I'd go for something very unrecognisable and under the radar. Or avoid frequenting establishments frequented by others with $10k to spend on a watch. Or travel everywhere by taxi or chauffeured vehicle.

Rolex Submariner without question 👌🏽

40mm rolex explorer

Get a Submariner and then flip it so I can get two Omega watches with a few $$$ more...

You are so right about London and certain employees tipping off the scummy thieves. Whenever I am in London it is G-Shock or Hamilton Khaki Field. Shame as it never used to be like that. Bloody YouTube and social media!

Omega Aqua Terra.

Glashütte Original SeaQ. Which comes first to my mind.

Or the Lehmann Zeigerdatum.

Business in the Front, Party in the Back.

I think you need to spend all $10k, you’re only at $4k. But I agree it’s a beautiful watch!

Rolex Submariner without question 👌🏽

This is also my answer (no date)

Oh is that so? I got 6k left to buy something else

I think I'll just keep it with the Black Bay 58

Rolex air king or omega aquaterra

I'd say Grand Seiko GMT. Even though it's already been said. A lot of value there. Grand Seiko watches imho could sell for a lot more IMHO. The movements function just as good as they look.

JLC Polaris blue no date on bracelet.

Grand Seiko SBGY007G Omiwatari. The first GS piece I ever saw and was mesmerised by the dial and the sweeping spring drive movement. Love at first sight and I guess my 'grail'.

Agree with this. I'd get the SBGM247 with its Explorer II vibes and green dial.

Go for submariner or speedmaster if you want a staple piece. If you want to be different I’d go for a zenith el primero!

What do you think about this watchmaker? Given your expertise in German watches, would love to hear your thoughts.

https://youtu.be/kZuwHsQA6hc?si=uCBY5729osKh3LSD

Definatly a very authentic independent watchmaker.

His watches are not cheap, but related to the hand craft fair priced. And he does really everything by hand. In a german interview the host said, "The only electrizity in you manufactury is used by the lights."

He is located in Baden-Baden, at the western edge of the Black Forest region. They say, that they get their cases from Pforzheim. A historical watch and jewelery city located in the Northern Black Forest Region. But without saying a name.

The only high sophisticated casemaker I know there, is the Ickler Group. If he uses Ickler Cases, Reliable Swiss Movements and combined withvthis hand crafts in can be just a bargain for that price.

But I actually never hold one in my hand, so I can just tell by my reliable informations.

So it's an authentic and serious watchmaker.

May not be practical for every day (or maybe it might??), but I am currently obsessed with the Big Pilot 5002. Seeing them on Chrono24 just under $10k

·

I’d probably go with the GS Snowflake in this scenario.

·

Polar E2

·

Zenith A386 Chronomaster Original! I love this watch.

Maybe grey market with a lot of luck ?

Approx 600 Casio F91W

·

PREMIER B25 DATORA-pre-owned or grey.

Definitely the king in this price category is the Rolex, but If you are bored with it, then there are such options:

Santos, Alpine Eagle, Laureato, Polaris, Ingenieur, GS birch, Snoopy, Speedy 57, Chronomaster sport, Pamonatic lunar and others.
