My first luxury watch purchase

I'm fairly new to the luxury watch world, but I fell in love once I saw this Oris BCPD. It's the Cervo Volante edition in green. I've been doing a lot of research over the last couple months but I keep coming back to this one. The pointer date is such a unique and fun feature, and this green dial is so striking. I know it's considered "entry level" in the watch world, but it's already way more than I ever thought I'd spend on a watch and it feels incredibly fancy to me. I've had it a few weeks now and I still can't stop staring at it.

Love the green and pointer date. Great choice.

Great choice! My first "big boy" watch was this oris pointer date. Wearing it as we speak! Don't worry about "entry level" or any of that nonsense for any watch you choose to buy, you don't have to justify anything!

Looks great! The watch world is ridiculous. That's an excellent and beautiful watch, regardless of price or comparison. Enjoy!

·

It’s on my wish list too

·

Congratulations on your purchase. 🍻

·

Stunning watch. This is on my list. I also agree with the other posts regarding entry vs. higher luxury. I get as much joy out of wearing my Mido TV as I do out of my watches many times the cost.

·

That's a beautiful watch. That Green looks awesome

·

Congrats on the watch! Yes it is funny what some what consider entry level as any normal non watch person would say you’re crazy for spending this much money on a watch.

·

Love that watch and the green dial. Beautiful!

·

Great watch. Great brand. Congratulations

Man I love Oris. An Oris was my first luxury watch, too. I had the Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot, Small Seconds GMT. It was a mouthful today, but I absolutely loved it. Sadly, I had to sell it during COVID because I was unemployed and had a little more than $1,500 sitting in my watch box in that Oris.

It's kind of shocking how quickly my tastes/budget escalated haha. I went from looking at $500 to $1k to $2k watches and it happened so fast! And now I'm like "hmm these Omegas look pretty nice..."

Entry level... maybe-ish, if we're talking luxury. In the broader watch world, it's streets ahead of where many watch collectors don't even get to. So I wouldn't sweat that.

·

Congratulations on a beautiful watch! You have chosen an amazing watch! Enjoy!

·

That's a beautiful watch! I'm not familiar with the pointer date complication. What a great idea!

·

A very nice watch, reminds me a little of the Hamilton Murph - kind of like a field watch BUT, also pretty enough to dress up smart. I’m quite a fan of Oris as a more “affordable” Swiss brand with some real pedigree. Enjoy your purchase!

·

Forget “levels” in my humble opinion. Buy what makes YOU happy. I love this piece.

·

That’s a beautiful watch and the pointer date is rather unique. Enjoy.

·

Great choice on your first pick! I love this watch 😘

·

And what a way to start; a real beauty 👌

·

I love the pointer date a lot. There have been a few times I almost pulled the trigger…

·

Very very nice. I love a racing green dial!

·

Beautiful watch, congrats!

🔥

·

Great watch. Read my recent post if you get a chance.

·

I was at my watchmaker picking up a couple of repairs today. I saw that in person and man it sure was an eye catcher.

·

Love this watch. My only complaint is that the strap is so nice and delicate I worry about wearing it out.changed it for a sturdier green strap.

·

Excellent choice. This was also my first "real" watch, I love the green dial. I learned through a couple months of shopping that I hate date windows, so the pointer date is and excellent feature. The only thing I didn't love about the watch was the strap color, but I ordered another from Oris in a darker brown. Congrats.

·

I have a Roberto Clementi limited big crown just love the date and the vintage look.

·

Oris really hold their own against other Swiss watch brands - including much more expensive brands. I’m lusting after the exact same watch. Very jealous of you right now! Enjoy.
