Just curious on what you fellow watch crunchers do when pairing your watch with your outfit. I usually either match my band to my shoes & belt combo or I try to find a complimentary band to a color Iโm wearing to help it pop more. Obviously bracelets tend to work in most situations. What do you do?

I usually match the watch to the occasion and not so much to the outfit specifically.
Beautiful Hamilton. Pairs nicely with that Jacket, too.
Swapping black leather strap for a bracelet if wearing brown leathers for the day.
Nope. I just wear what I want
I match my watch with my moodโฆ and Iโm pretty moodyโฆ
I've never given it a thought in my decades of watch (and clothes) wearing.
Largely band, shoes, belt, with certain exceptions for steel bracelets. Also casual watches for casual wear, more trending towards dress or field watches for work.
Divers, NATO straps and such on the weekends.
Always watch first, then outfit to match ๐
Damn that guy in the photo is so fashionable ๐
can you colour match this monstrosity ๐
Iโm mostly a bracelet guy, but if I do go with a leather strap, Iโll usually match my belt and shoes combo to the watch and not the other way around.
Lovely watch and very well matched.
That's why I always buy neutral coloured watches. Its just so I don't have to worry about which watch to match with what outfit. Some people may think that's boring but the benefit is that if you want to match something to your belt and shoes which, in a more work/dressy scenario, are either black or brown, then black and white dial watches will look just as good with black or brown straps. A white or black dial on a metal bracelet will honestly match anything you wear. Just thought I'd share my thinking.
I've been trying to find rings to coordinate with watches too. Since my watches are fairly neutral, Ill try to pair my watch to my outfit. I know if I'll wear my vans, I'll pair them with a gshock. ON Federer advantage shoe, swiss on a bracelet. My Adidas stan smiths, I'll wear a casual watch on a leather. Boat shoes with a diver. That's like 90% of my attire. Haha
Definitely matching tones. Black strap, black belt, black shoes. Like today, all black gym fit with the Citizen on the black silicone bands.
Depending on the outfit and the occasion then the style watch takes precedence.
I just wear whatever I want. Pretty much anything can go with jeans and an old t-shirt.
A datejust or explorer goes with any occasion.. that said, dressier pieces go to more formal or sportier ones with more casual. Work or leisure can be anything that goes well with the mood or outfit...

Hockey gersey for sure
Na thatโs way too much work,
I just let it happen naturallyโฆ
Or NOT.๐
Class all the way :)
Iโve been rocking my white sky dweller recently. I love how it blends with formal wear (suits) and then pops with casual wear (shorts t shirt). Basically it goes with everything.
I will echo what many others have said in matching the watch to the occasion, but also my mood. The watch is always the last thing I go for. My collection leans on versatility, so a vast majority of my pieces can fit in multiple occasions so I always have a wide selection of watches for any situation.
i usually match the watch with my activity. like you i also match my strap colour with either shoes or belt colour

I imagine with an outfit like this.
I only match colors together to an extreme

You can pimp that monstrosity in this. ๐

I do the same thing as you do as far as pairing shoes, belt, and Watch strap. If Iโm wearing something other than a leather strap (Iโd: nato, sailcloth, rubber etc) I usually try and pair the colors to my shirt or jacket. It also depends on my mood too if Iโm being honest. Who here hasnโt worn a watch that was a bit showy because we were either looking to stand out or simply looking for a compliment or two at the office water cooler? By the way, beautiful Hamilton.
