Ill be attending my first GS9 event next weekend. I'm pumped on this, I'm usually pretty introverted in person, but with watches and drinks, I'm sure that'll change. Hahaa.
I plan on being my buddy's plus one. I'll be wearing a Seiko turtle. Hopefully that won't be too low brow.
What's scary, it's not just Rolex being ripped off. Casio f91w, the most basic watch. I've seen Tissot prx with the pm80 movement cloned. It makes me scared for the entire market. Someone mentioned GS, Chinese super clone factories can't touch the finish and movement of GS. Not yet at least.
I've been trying to find rings to coordinate with watches too. Since my watches are fairly neutral, Ill try to pair my watch to my outfit. I know if I'll wear my vans, I'll pair them with a gshock. ON Federer advantage shoe, swiss on a bracelet. My Adidas stan smiths, I'll wear a casual watch on a leather. Boat shoes with a diver. That's like 90% of my attire. Haha
It says you don't take yourself and your collection too seriously. You don't follow internet trends and the social norms. Casio is God tier but you're beyond that noise.
I'm glad you see it that way too. I had a moonSwatch, realized I'm not a chrono guy. 3 hand with date is enough for me.
