Is there a watch style you feel like you're missing?

For me, I need (ok, want) a full steel watch with a blue dial. I feel like that's totally missing from my collection.

Just about every brand makes one, there are too many to choose from!

What about you? Any particular style you feel like you absolutely must have?

Update: I am almost certain this is the one I want ❤

All looking gorgeous. Great collage!

I don't have a full steel with a blue dial.  When I online window shop for them I find myself more attracted to red dials.

But first, I need a flieger.

I have blue eyes and like to wear blue shirts, so a watch with a dark blue dial is pretty much a must-have for me. The SRPE53 currently fills that role for me, just like my father's blue Seiko GQ did for him. It's really hard to go wrong in this category, as many watches are very similar from a style perspective. I would maybe like to add a Tissot Gentleman in blue one of these days, as it is some ways the European entry for affordable yet excellent value watches. The Longines Conquest is already a slight deviation IMHO with its large numerals.

I have blood-shot gray eyes.  This explains much.

GS Lake Suwa. I regret not getting one when I had the opportunity.

·

I would like to have a simple, white/silver dial dress watch. I've come close to picking one up a few times, but never followed through.

·

As I own a blue bb58, I must vouch for it. It's a stunner! 🤩
It looks like your options are all bezel-less. Was that intentional? No dive watches?

·

That GS is awesome, great choice. Fingers crossed you'll get your hands on it soon.

Red dials are nice too! For me, blue is more neutral so I think i'd get more wear out of it. Fliegers are amazing, any particular one you have in mind?

Which one?

oh yes, the Tissot Gentleman is perfect for this style...I completely forgot about it as I have the PRX on the brain. Agreed about the Longines Conquest, the dial is much sportier than the others; it probably works better on the HydroConquest diver.

·

excellent choice! that dial is 👌

that GS is a beauty for sure - you never know, maybe you'll get another opportunity soon ✨

I believe a Laco would be my choice.  I have looked at Islander models, but the too long hour hand is a deal breaker for me.

Same with my steel/blue dial dream watch; I simply haven't followed through (yet!)

It took me quite some time before getting a blue dialed watch myself, but I’m still missing quite a few things:

  • precious metal
  • open caseback
  • skeleton dial
  • something really bright and colorful
·

The two pieces I’d like to add for diversity of favorites are the #omega 3861 moonwatch and then a dress watch, probably something like a vintage 1950s or 1960s Omega Constellation with the pie pan dial. The dress watch will depend on budget at the time. I’m certain about the moonwatch, though.

·

I have most of what I want covered.  I would like a nice moon phase, probably a GO Panomatic Lunar.

Blue dials and/or bezels take up a large part of my collection.

For me I looking at a Swiss Diver, possibly Certina or Glycine. I have 3 Japanese Divers so it's time.

Nice (possible) choice. I’ve got a number of blues and love them. I’m missing a chronograph, still can’t settle on one that really speaks to me. Maybe a Speedy in my future, its the closest I’ve gotten so far.

Here’s a few ‘blues’, good luck with your choice!

Totally agree - I keep looking at the Orion hellcat in burgundy, Oris Pointer date and the brew retromatic in red all are 🔥

·

Looks great. I’ve thought about flipping my BB58 blue toward that watch. Is the strap Grand Seiko or aftermarket?

·

I would take a look at the slightly more elegant and slender Longines Master Class blue dial stainless steel bracelet in one of their smaller mm diameter sizes. I understand your want for the simplicity of a stainless steel three handed watch with a blue dial as it is my fav color way.

I need a diver and am looking at the Orient Kamasu to fill that roll. Otherwise I’m a big titanium fan. I found a Citizen Ecodrive that might work but I think I’m gonna hold off and keep looking for that one, pretty sure I’ll be able to find that Citizen if I change my mind.

·

Celine,

I think this is a great question. I find that I've gravitated towards black dials for the most part, exception being my Omega Seamaster Professional diver with the silver dial (love that lil' guy!). I'd say a white dial with black lettering is what I'm missing. Like a VC overseas, but in reality, I like you, am missing a bit of "dial" color in my collection. I hope to remedy that in the future.

·

I have the OP41 in bright blue, it’s stunning.  This one was also to scratch my blue dial steel watch itch, lol.  But now I need a green dial…..

·

I NEED to stop buying divers and get myself an everyday watch. I have decided and I am saving up but divers keep popping up left and right and I am tempted

·
·

I'm on the hunt for a dress watch. When I started this watch hobby, I was put off by their simplicity for how much they cost but now I kind of understand their appeal. Still trying to learn as much as I can before I decide to buy something.

I just bought a Zelos Swordfish 40mm Blue Meteorite dial… IT‘S AMAZING!!!! It’s out of this world! Literally! The bracelet is amazing, the fit and feel is amazing, I can’t rave about it enough!
