Favorite Panda Dial Watches?

Hi friends!

I'm back for some research for an upcoming article about Panda Dials.

Image

What are your favorite watches with Panda dials that are currently in production?

Thanks as always for any feedback!  🍻

I like the Dan Henry as a moderately priced quartz option. Every panda feels like a homage, so why not lean into it.?

I think the Zenith is top of the food chain 😍

Honestly, you have the good ones; Daytona, Autavia, Breitling, Tudor, and the budget pick, Intramatic.  I will add the one big brand that is not included that has several, but this is probably my favorite from them, the Omega Speedmaster CK 2998. After the 40th Anniversary Snoopy, this would be my second pick for Omegas I'd add to the collection.

I always thought the Orent NEO 70's neo-Seventies WV0041TX was pretty cool and affordable.

I’m gonna pick the new kid on the block

I almost included this one but it’s no longer available for sale on the omega website. it’s gorgeous

I almost got that one, but the Moonphase won out. Its a very good looking watch!

That's a great point, I was not thinking about availability new.  Many of their panda variations, this one, the Olympics edition, etc all seem to be "Limited." Not sure how they consider 3000 limited, but still.

The Omega Chronoscope is stunning in person.

Going full panda inclusive of bamboo 🐼 !

But as much as I enjoy the Underd0g designs - I refuse to get a Chinese movement 🤷‍♂️

You are not wrong, as awesome as that watch looks, that movement is horrible, despite how it looks from a couple feet away.

That’s an excellent choice! Will add it to my article, thank you!

Does reverse (evil) panda qualify?

Oh boy - somehow I missed this one.

Now it's going to cost me to find one.

That is an amazing choice! Smitten.

Zenith A384 reissue

No mention of the Seiko Prospex Panda dial?  This is preposterous!

·

I'm kind of over Panda dials as a whole for readability issues.  If the hands are polished steel with white lume, it's often hard to see the hands on the white part of the dial.  If the hands are dark, it's often hard to see the hands on the black register section of the dial.  This is subject, of course, to specific models, colour combinations, hand size/shape and whether I'm wearing my reading glasses at the time.  I realize that all the watch photos in your OP are set to 10:10 but even so, I still have trouble seeing the time on some of them even on my big screen.

I realize that I am a sample size of 1 and not relevant to your article but these are my thoughts on Panda dials.

👏 This would be my choice as the Daytona is unobtainable. I’m not sure on the bracelet but the dial looks amazing.

·

I love a panda dial, and am still searching for my favourite alternative to the Daytona. Great idea for an article @celinesimon 👍

·

I'm already on record as stating the Rolex Daytona ref. 116500LN "Panda" doesn't have a "true Panda" dial (it's still a keeper tho') so... of the currently available offerings I think it's a tie between the Tudor BB Chrono and the Breitling B01 (they do share the same movement after all).

This one (the re-issue is in current production), but I very unsure if it fits my small collection 🤔

I real enjoy wearing my Speedtimer, it’s great for small wrist.

·

Not a huge fan of chronos and prefer a reverse panda to a standard panda, but this was butter on the wrist.

Image

Also, does this count as a panda? This is my favorite Tudor next to the North Flag.

That's such a good-looking Zenith!

I like the Tudor Heritage Chrono too, but I don't really think "Panda" when I look at it. More, Blue Footed Booby, perhaps? 😂

That's almost as hard to get as the Daytona! Fantastic Panda, congrats!

Zenith for sure

Hi,

I own the Autavia Flyback and love it.

It is however quite large and probably not suitable for everyone, but fits my 7" wrist fine!

Its good for casual and smart and gets lots of looks. It's supplied on the black crock strap, but I also recently bought the steel bracelet which swaps over really quickly thanks to the release mechanism. It looks just as nice on the bracelet in my opinion. Hope this helps, Mark..

What a fantastic-looking watch! And you're right, it looks good on both the bracelet and strap. 💪
