Most Haunted Vintage Watch Challenge - It Begins

The luxury vintage watch you bought from eBay is revealed to be a homage brand, but you half-expected that anyway from the description. You win some, you lose some, but as the saying goes, if something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

You can’t return the watch anyway, so you wipe it over with Fairy liquid, wash it under the tap, and leave it to dry on the drainer. You don't even care if it's water resistant or not, you just wanted that brown stuff off it. You're relieved that it was only HP Sauce and not some kind of poo though.

You’ll inspect it more closely later, but surprisingly, the watch is actually ticking, and you notice there’s an inscription on the back:

While the watch dries, you log onto WatchCrunch to tell everybody your good news. You mention that your new watch belonged to someone named “Rudy Jester Frodsham”.

One of your friends says he’s heard that name before somewhere and sends you a link to Wikipedia.

Oh no! I hope he didn’t die wearing this watch! The thought of it puts you off the bacon sandwich you were thinking of eating yourself.

Suddenly feeling tired again after the many all-nighters you’ve been pulling recently arguing about overpriced luxury timepieces and AliExpress mushroom brands on WatchCrunch, you go back to bed.

You turn on your bedroom TV and randomly select something to watch from YouTube. The dulcet tones of Max talking about his love for Panerai soon helps you succumb to sleep. But as you drift off into the Land of Nod, you are sure you can hear the sound of rats scrabbling about in the kitchen...

You wake up to the worst music you've ever heard blaring out of your clock radio. It’s like a load of bands all playing different songs at once with unintelligible vocals over the top which sound like a cat being strangled...

You jump out of bed and hit the off button. Nothing to worry about, it was just Radio One’s usual playlist. Funny how you don't remember setting the alarm though.

You're very thirsty, and you know you have energy drinks in the fridge, so you grumpily make your way downstairs.

It’s got dark now, and you forgot to put on the light. You touch the wall for support as you descend the stairs and recoil in disgust. There’s something slimy on it!

You flick the light switch and can now see that there’s slime like big red slugs dripping down the walls. And if that’s not bad enough, there’s a nauseating stench of burnt bacon and rotten eggs! It's just like a scene from The Amityville Horror!

What can you do? Well, slugs in the garden are killed with salt… and some kind of air freshener should help to get rid of the smell...

Rules:

All photo challenges must include a watch, and any items needed must be real items not things popped up on your TV screen or monitor in the background. No CGI or AI is allowed either because I'm all about the practical effects. Some filters are allowed and may actually be necessary.

Instructions:

Take a picture recreating the famous Amityville scene with slime running down your wall, but add a flower pot filled with salt, something scented to get rid of the smell (a scented candle/potpourri/joss sticks/air freshener... whatever you can find), and a handwritten note saying, "HELP ME!" Don’t forget to include your watch!

You have 22 hours to complete this challenge!It ends at 6pm (BST) on Friday, October 27th (to give me enough time to check through who has passed or failed, and to set up the next challenge).

(I did warn you that this would be 4 times as hard as the last scavenger hunt, and this is the easiest challenge to get you started. The next one will be on Friday at 8pm, and will crank the volume up to 11.)
