Choices to be Made

Greeting my fellow watch nerds...I come again seeking guidance. I am at a horological fork in the road. So, based off the two photos, what say you if you could only get one? Seiko chrono, yes in this color, no not the panda. or the Hammy? Can't wait to see what the masses think!

I'm missing both brands in my collection. I have a lot of Chronographs, but no field watches, so for me, the Hamilton.

·

Two completely different watches so hard to say based only on the photos.

More info about what you are looking for in a watch is needed.

If I were me I'd take the Hamilton because I really lke the brand and I have enough chronos.

·

Personally I would take the Hamilton because I don’t have a field watch of that caliber. But what is your collection missing?

·

100% hamilton. The date placement and dial color on the seiko are weird to me. If it were a blue, black, or something stark for the dial color, maybe. But the pale yellow is just off white enough thati don't care for it.

·

I’ve got that exact Seiko and a Titanium Hamilton Khaki Automatic. The Seiko is really comfortable on even compared to the Ti Hammy. I’m also a chronograph fan so it’s the Seiko for me. They’re both great though so either way you’re getting a great watch.

·

Just bought the Hamilton Automatic for my brother.... I think he appreciattes it!!

·

I love the Hamilton and am sure will have one soon. Two different watches though so depends what else you have and which one best compliments  them

·

Seiko is more unique. Where else are you gonna find that color?

There are a billion black watches out there.

Just my 3 cents.

·

I'm not a fan of chronographs so i would choose the Hamilton 😀

·

I have a Hamilton Khaki King that I got for 350 and that is bargain for what you get. It is a great watch and I love it, but it hasn't become my favourite watch for the reason It does everything so we'll it doesn't leave me the quirks to love the watch like Casios do or Vostoks. If I had a change to make the Hamilton choice again I would go for a Hamilton Khaki Field Manual with distinct retro look and a lot of soul within and manual winding movement. Those are quirks that I would love. So Seiko would be my choice here. Also the connection of end-link and first link of the bracelet of KFA looks weird on a skinny wrist. The bracelet is kind of falls down and leaves the ears of an end-link hanging. Maybe it's just me.

·

Hammy.....100%

·

Had a bad experience with Hamilton so Seiko would be my Choice.... But yes, that date window (in that color) almost ruins the watch... I would make an effort to get another Seiko model same price

·

I quite like the dial color of that Seiko.

·

Congratulations!  At least you narrowed it down to one field watch (among many) and one chrono (among even more). If you already have a chrono and no field (my situation) and everything else is equal, I say get the Hamilton.

It's a classic and one I will pick up with the same choice you have (except with a different chrono) unless I decide to get the reissued Benrus Bullitt field watch instead.

·

Think I'd have to take the hamilton as long as its the 38mm. I own the 42mm and constantly consider switching but I've built memories with it now.

It's a great movement and the 80 hour power reserve is really handy.

·

I love Seiko but I have mixed feelings about the Seiko Speedtimer I found it a bit underwhelming when I saw one at a local jewelry store! besides, that's an awesome looking Hamilton.

·

I vote the Hamilton now...  then the Seiko next when the budget allows... 🤣

I have and love that Hamilton, I have been wearing it for years.

If you don’t already have some Swatch group watch with a Powermatic 80/Caliber 80/etc., then the Hamilton. Otherwise , the Seiko.

·

Hamilton all the way!

·

Hammy

·

Since I suffer from Chronographidis it's a no brainer. Golden Panda!

·

Purely on my subjective aesthetic terms, I think the Hamilton looks better.

·

I would keep the Hamilton. There is an option to change the crystal for an AR one if you want.

·

Both are great time pieces and have different looks and purposes.  It really depends, which watch speaks to you more based on your current collection, personal style, and fashion sense.

The Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic is an under the radar watch and does not scream but is for the wearer to appreciate and enjoy.  One of the best everyday watches because of its relatively low case height.

The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph has more bling and presence on the wrist.  You have chosen the more vintage colour way, so that tells me you want the watch to also be under the radar too.  Definitely a sportier look, taller on the wrist at 13.3mm, battery change only from time to time, and more eye catching.

Maybe toss a coin to decide but ultimately go with the one that speaks to you more.

·

Just ordered the Hamilton Khaki Field King,,,so I'm saying Hamilton. I will say, as you know, both options are cool.

·

EASY!

wear one on the left wrist & the other watch on your right. Put a long sleeve top on & you‘ll be the only one who knows what’s up your sleeve

·

I highly recommend owning a Hamilton field watch.

·

Both

·

Follow your heart, (and your wrist size)

Just be aware that there will be some sun/light reflection on the glass of the Hami because of the poor AR coating treatment, and it might be bothering eventually, if it matters to you.

Let us know what you chose.

I purchase the Hamilton and would do it again. I love Seiko watches but with the Hamilton you get such mor watch for the money! Look at my photos and you’ll find my beauty👌👌
