As long as you like it and enjoy it when it arrives in the long run, that is all that counts... Its simplicity speaks volumes for a potential winner everyday/dress watch with a beautiful execution of a moon complication that is relevant in the evenings/days when this watch will be often used. This one will always beg to be on one's wrist because "if kept wound, Calibre JJ04 will remain accurate to a day every 128 years" - I guess you've made the decision to be one watch faithful... Looking forward to your thoughts when it finally arrives! 👍
Too many good ones... (A. Lange-Sohne, AnOrdain, Apple Watch, Autodromo, Audemars Piguet, Ball, Baltic, Bell & Ross, Breitling, Bremont, Brew, Bulgari, Bulova, Cartier, Certina, Christopher Ward, Dan Henry, Doxa, Formex, Frederique Constant, Girard Perregaux, Glycine, Grand Seiko/ King Seiko, Halios, Invicta, IWC, Jaeger Le-Coultre, Jack Mason, Kikuchi Nakagawa, Kuoe Kyoto, Longines, Lorier, Marathon, Mido, Monta, Nodus, Nomos, Norqain, NTH, Oak & Oscar, Oris, Panerai, Piaget, Rado, Raven, Richard Mille, San Martin, Scurfa, Sea-Gull, Serica, Smiths, Spinnaker, Sternglas, Studio Under0g, Tag Heuer, Tissot, Traska, Tudor, U-Boat, Vaer, Weiss, Yema, Zelos, and Zenith) ...and at the same time I can appreciate their design language and appeal but do not present the value, lifestyle fit and/or wrist appeal at this present time in my current watch journey.
Every time daylight savings time rolls around again, it reminds me of a simpler time when I only had 1-3 automatic/mechanical time pieces and makes me want to review and pare down the collection which has exponentially grown in the last 6 years... Maybe daylight savings time is a good thing for that reason?
I would definitely agree with the watch clasp needing some improvement on the sharp edges finishing side. My watch is also running about 15-20 seconds faster after about a week but I am totally okay with that ( for me it is better fast than slow ). I find I like to wear my faster running mechanical watches because I enjoy wearing them for a few days or weeks - running slow for me would be a bummer...
Your root beer colourway looks amazing but decided on the white because I already have a number of black or dark coloured dial watches. Is your GMT arrow really pumpkin or yellowish in actual colour? How do you like it? My white dial face is whiter than the sandy/fleshy depiction on their website and has a good vintage inspired but modern aesthetic with the muted bright orange GMT arrow matching the 24, 6, 12, 9 chapter ring and HUDSON text at the 6 o'clock.
Purchased my watch early during the additional discount period but was glad that the actual watch face ( white dial ) is better in flesh than the pictures on MAEN website. After taxes and duties the watch does add up in price but the more you wear it, the cheaper it gets...
I felt the same way for a minute too, but see that it is a way to have logo and text not bleed on a textured dial. Sometimes looks like an afterthought or a sticker but only time will be the judge of that…
Uses a Soprod C-125 Elaboré Grade ( +7/-7 seconds in three positions ) according to the website. Keeping good time so far more on the plus side which is my personal preference.
