Indefensible Watch Collection

I had absolutely no excuse for buying these apart from the fact that I love them all.  Left to Right: An Ordain Model 2. Rado Captain Cook 37mm,  Girard Perregaux Gyromatic HF, Omega Aqua Terra 39mm, Seiko 5, Girard Perregaux 1st Quartz.

Usually there is at least one inclusion for which I must bite my tongue, or the whole enchilada seems repetitive or otherwise lacking. This is an exception.

·

Look, I can't really defend ANY of my watch purchases.

The only one I own that might be collectible by a real WIS is a Citizen EcoDrive and even that has an issue with it being Darth Vader themed.

Your collection on the other hand is very nice. 6 different case shapes, 6 different dial colors, 5 different brands, good mix of straps/bracelets. Very well-rounded.

·

The fact that you love them all is the only reason or excuse you need! At least, that is my view. As someone who has a large collection with many...interesting...unusual...questionable?...choices included in my own, I will always rise to the defense of another's collection.😜

What do you think of the 37mm Captain Cook? Have had my eye on one of those for a while...

I don’t think any watch collection needs to be defended. Everyone collects according to their taste, prioritization and financial muscles. Yours is excellent and with a great variety as @UnholiestJedi pointing out.

·

nice rado🙏🏻

It's a really great watch. Indestructible seemingly. The ceramic bezel protects everything from knocks.  Be aware that the 37 is 100m non screw down unlike the bigger one.  But the 42 just seems huge.

You saw straight through me. But thanks.  Defensible to my wife, that's another matter.

I like four of them more than the other two, but you have a nice variety there, very flexible.

·

That’s a great collection.  The only justification you need is that you like them.

·

First let me say, amazing collection.

Since I got into this roughly 2 years ago, I can't explain any of it.  Some things are not meant to be understood.  Passion by definition is a strong and barely controllable emotion, that usually defies logic.

·

I see no problem with buying stuff that you like and will wear.  Love, enters and leaves through the eyes of the beholder.

·

As long as you like it no excuses needed.

The Rado and Omega are stunning in my eyes but they’re all splendid in my opinion which is worth nothing. 😁

·

Oh sh*t, we have to defend our collections??!?

·

Great collection, would love to get an AnOrdain for myself too!!

·

If it goes tick or shows a number your in our silly club and the equal to any of us

·

Wowzers I love them all!!!!

·

Great collection - really good choices across the spectrum. Now you just need to add a chronograph 😉

If you ever need some ideas, just give me a shout - I can give you a variety of choices across the spectrum of prices and vintage vs new.

The great thing about chronos is that there are so many options today at all price ranges.

That was the best first sentence in this history of watch talk on the web. Seriously.

What it should be about, right there.

·

Love it. Is that the titanium aqua Terra?

·

You need no excuse for assembling such a fine collection.

No just the standard steel. It’s my first good watch. 2008. 2500 calibre which was ETA derived and a lot thinner than the new ones.

Gotcha. I think there is a newer one that has this color way but is a limited edition in titanium. I owned the casino royale Seamaster that had the cal 2500 and enjoyed that watch very much, thin indeed.
