It’s an in house Gerard Perregaux movement developed away from the other Swiss Manufacturers who had banded together to make a new battery powered quartz movment. Gerard Perregaux went their own way though and got their watch out first, and that’s why these watches are known as “1st Quartz”.
No just the standard steel. It’s my first good watch. 2008. 2500 calibre which was ETA derived and a lot thinner than the new ones.
