What if?

Seems like I’m always looking for potential watch purchases. It’s an illness I have that you probably not familiar with. I have a few planned, like a military inspired chronograph for 2024. Others prospects are more vague or uncertain.

Like I always been a fan of Oris Diver 65 Heritage model. It’s now discontinued. I have hoped that Oris will re launch it with their inhouse caliber 400 movement. I popped the question to Oris customer service who transferred the question to the market department. They never came back with an answer. Their domestic sales rep told me that it never would happen that Oris bringing the Heritage model back. They fully go for the standard model  with the Sellita movement or the cal 400.

Another potential candidate have been one of the colorful yellow or orange beauties present here on the forum from Seiko, Citizen, Doxa , Movado etc. I would like to have an accent in the orange scale into the mix. I have had hard times figuring which one to go for.

What if there where one to be found combining these two? Seems like Collective Horology might have a solution.

You are saying go for the Citizen, right?

·

The citizen!!!!!🎯

·

I just found out there was one🤓 I just wanted to show it to the forum.

These Oris are too cool. I can’t bring myself to spend that much on an Oris, or anything at the moment, but I do think I’m gonna need a Diver 65 soon. You can still find a few of the printed dials on eBay for about $1000 too.

I think I prefer the applied indices but it’s a tough call.

The Collective model is stunning but I think the bronze on the bracelet will stain my skin a little, but that dial is so damn cool.

·

I’d go for the Oris.

Yes it is on the high end but about the same price as the standard Diver 65 with the cal 400.

I would take the Oris!

·

Absolutely smitten with the Doxa for my vote, but here’s another that I keep twisting my head around to look at all the time when thinking of an orange watch: the Islander Northport Fireball

Image
·

I’ve got my 2024 plan already laid out 😀

Keeping it British for 2/3rd of my potential purchases.

Love the look of the Farer Exmoor. Been looking at field watches for a while and keep coming back to this one.

Got to get myself a Christopher Ward and this ticks all the boxes.

Finally, the Glycine Airman has the eccentric, with the heritage.

Beautiful colors👍

·

I Do love that oris

·

The Collective Horology Oris looks like a really fun watch. I love the colors on the dial and of course the inverted numerals. The bracelet is a bit too much with the bronze center links IMHO, but it will look awesome on a tropical or even a leather strap 🔥

I don’t know where I stand fully. Just saw Adrian’s (sponsored) video. I got a vibe of a vintage Root beer as well even if they obviously not look the same. Normally I not much of bronze fan but I think with this they didn’t overdo it.

Looks good👌 I actually don’t know which and how many colorways there are. The yellow have stood out to me when I seen a picture.

·

That orange Oris (technical description) is a stunner.

I think the color works really well. I don’t know how these co ops work. If Oris make them to Collectors spec or that is all outsourced? Either way, I like the result.

·

But I do love the Oris a tad more than the Citizen😉

·

Woww the Oris🔥

Collective horology is a new one for me, looks an awesome slice of retroey orangeness, one you've pictured that I know well is the bulova devil diver I've got the blue dialled with an orange segment on the bezel,

Image
Image

besides the base level movement its a beut I've seen the orange version and it's as much orange as anyone would want, and the lume indices are fantastic. Oh and then there's stuff like the WT Author

Image

My delves into the orange colourway.

As for my plans, well I've got one for a change, nearly there financially on this one

Image

Hopefully ocean crawler will put this into production 'the bolt'

Image

And this depending on price, isotope moonshot (might have to forego the bolt for this as I know its going to be pricey)

Image

That's the plan, but as you know with plans....

Have you thought about the secondary market for the heritage version? You mentioned having a colorful version of a few brands including the new Oris variant. Based on your comments it sounds like you would lean towards the new Oris color.

You can't go wrong with any of the brands you mentioned.

Plans, yes they are ever changing. I like yours. An AD in my capital had a decent line up with Vulcains. I was very impressed by them. Your future pick looks wonderful👌

The Bulova Devil (?!) looks amazing in pictures. I have never been able to see it. It’s a bit hard to understand the hue of orange, or red, it actually has.

Collective Horology is new to me as well. I think they worked with more expensive brands then Oris before. This is a cooperation they made with Zenith in the past.

Yes, a pre loved version of the heritage is a real potential option. I might eventually end up with one. I just saw this playful version and just thought it looked the part. I was eager to present it to the community because of it’s playful look. Even if the design is inspired by the 60s, the Collective version is inspired by the 70s and I’m going through a 70s phase at the moment.

But I might end up with neither.

I enjoy reading some of your posts about watches/types you are looking to move towards and acquire. Interesting to see your decision making process. Appears to be very pragmatic and deliberate based on the criteria you choose.

Thank you! I have to be, otherwise this will end up in castastrophy. I’m too fond of watches.

That new Oris…Just… I really want one. It’s kinda weird, and I love it.

If you're still looking at orange, check this out and have a Ball -- a Ball Engineer III Marvelight Chronometer Orange Dial.

Looks like a more distinctive OP. Sparkling color! Ball is not represented where I live but that haven’t stopped me in the past. Thank you for the tip👍
