I ask my existing collection for permission to add their number. I do this by lining them all up on a table, leaving an empty space in the middle for the potential candidate. Then I find a good picture of the watch under consideration and get a high quality color print of it, which I place in the empty spot. If it passes muster, it's in. Frankly, though, I usually get bored of this process half way through and forget about it. Problem solved.
Congratulations on the birth of your son! You now have many events to look forward to, each of which will require commemoration with a new watch: first smile, first tooth, first steps, first word, first full night of sleep. Start putting your list together now.
It's not about me, it's about the watch. Some watches need to be worn frequently to stay in tip top shape. Others really don't care if they get worn or not, as long as they get a little time in the sun. Still others (especially the vintage) would rather sleep, but do like a little gentle winding every so often. A little sensitivity to a watch's needs goes a long way.
On the horns of a dilemna. What watch to buy next? Anordain Fabrik Blue Dial OR Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Price is same ballpark.
