With the minimal lighting on the Bridge, your Crew gathered the last of the supplies and distributed it amongst yourselves. Meanwhile, the Captain and First Officer enter in the command codes into the remaining functional computer console. "Geneva-Berlin-Tokyo". Command codes accepted. The crew breathe a sigh of relief, thinking that this would cancel the self-destruct sequence. Instead, the United Federation of Planets symbol appears on the screen and a message starts to play.

A figure in a red uniform appears on screen. "Captain's Log. If you are watching this, it is because our mission has failed. You are now our only hope. This will be my final entry as the Commanding Officer of this ship. The fleet rendezvoused at the planet at the edge of known space and encountered a force more powerful than we could have ever imagined. We initiated First Contact protocols. No response. Our scans and weapons had no effect. Our Away teams were able to locate some artifacts on the planet surface that might be effective, but we have run out of time to complete it."

"Some ships are staying behind to slow it down. They will try to buy us much time as they can. Our seven ships are heading back to Federation space at maximum warp but the crew have been disappearing mysteriously. Without crew, the ship's autonomous emergency protocol will recall her back to Earth Spacedock. The artifacts we found..." The message is garbled and corrupted.

"It is coming. Good luck and godspeed to us all."

The playback ends but the self-destruct countdown returns, except now it's been sped up. You only have 2 minutes left to get off the ship. The Starboard Aft turbolift doors open, beckoning you to enter. Your teammates jump into the lift, without hesitation. Once everyone was inside, the doors automatically close and the lift starts moving. 2 more blasts rocked the ship as the doors open...

Congratulations. Your Crews have successfully completed Week 1 of CrunchTrek. There were some heroics during the week as some crew members from the three doomed ships were rescued and integrated with the victorious teams. Take a break as Week 2 is right around the corner.
