What's the Meaning of your Screen Name?

I've seen some screen names that seem pretty easy to decipher the meaning behind them or why they were chosen, but some are a bit of a mystery.

Mine's easy: @Pallet_Fork

I thought a watch part would be an appropriate screen name for me for this site. I think we all know what the Pallet Fork does inside a mechanical watch. I love how there are rubies on the ends that interact with the escape wheel - it's mesmerizing watching that interaction - and I love gem stones too.

@LegacyHann

Name’s Hann, or short for Johann.

I’m in estate planning where the name of the game is passing of one’s lifetime wealth to the next generation.

Watches are such a discussed heirloom in this business, not just because some time pieces are expensive, but also because the cumulative experiences creates memories for the receiver.

Not to mention, quality time pieces literally stand the test of time.

I did not use my usual screen name here. I went boring with my screen name and just used my name. On other forums, I am known as KrazyIvan - Fountain Pen Sith Lord or Audio Sith Lord because I use methods many consider unnatural. I do not accept the limitations set by the Jedi on what should and can be done.

I think mine is self-explanatory, but I can spell it out if needed.

Ohhh haaagen daaaaazzzzz strawberry ice cream…. 🤤

Just the first thing that came to mind 20-ish years ago when I first began interwebbing.

Have used a couple others also at various sites.

Same here!! Bunz all The way!!

·

I thought it sounded cool for a watch forum.

·

Mine is easy to decipher. I chose it because it is the dial that draws me in to a watch. Other factors obviously help to drive the decision to make a watch mine, but for me it starts with the dial. The watches I love the most are the ones that I find mesmerizing to look at.

It seemed better than LongDongSliver.

I fancied a change from my usual but didn't have enough braincells available to think one up.

So this is one of my favourite tracks and was playing when I registered.

·

"Jay-Bird" was a nickname from a neighbor in my youth. It's that simple.

·

Nickname+ slight Pokemon reference. Greatest name to order takeout under.

·

It's my name lol

This is a new re-issue from Bulova the "Parking Meter" They did a run of 5000 They are still available. Didn't hit like they thought, I waited to get this one for half off and then another 20%.

I got it at Jarad's 🙄

with shipping it was 240.00

A bargain, so unique, what an add to one's collection!

@apt.1901

Didn’t have much growing up and Frasier was one show I got hooked on in my early teens. I always was blown away by his fictional home and fantasized I’d one day have a condo like that, a bit of self-motivation. This is one of two usernames I’ve used for the past two+ decades, a reference to the fictional Apartment 1901 Elliot Bay Towers and its incredible view of the Seattle skyline.

·

Just a nicname from college days.

·

I stopped collecting watches after my Tag Heuer back in 1998 due to an allergy with nickel. I used to collect a lot of swatch watches. 20 years later I realized I could reduce that allergy by using nickel-free metal, so that's when watch collecting 2.0 started . It comes and goes though, so I make sure I've got alternative options.

·

Self explanatory…

I think it has something to do with my false yet endearing sense of modesty.

·

german combination of Watch and Donkey as Donkey is in my Lastname - realy!

·

I've had a constant scene name when I was in my teens and twenties, but now I just throw in some random words or phrases that looks good togeter.

Main reason to stay - aint it beautiful?

Eww... Gives @Ichibunz some powder for his posterior 😛

My handle was for a t-shirt I used to own. It got a picture of a dugong snorkelling with the legend Talking Dugong on it.

I loved that t-shirt so much I wore it until it's more holes than shirt and then I used the name as my internet handle.
