Largely unknown. I found it in a local vintage shop where it had been for a couple years. Price was right so I picked it up. Such a great wearing watch but water resistance of Swiss cheese so I’m pretty careful with it.
First a disclaimer: I have never been to Tokyo. That said I have bought a vintage watch from a dealer there and I would definitely visit them if I were going. The shop is called ITEM and their website is timeanagram.com. Great selection of vintage pieces and I had a great buying experience. On their site it says they are in Shibuya Tokyo and you need to make an appointment. Have fun!
Th reference number is on the case back 2220-P. You also have the serial number below it. With that you can get a free extract from Longines with lots of information on production date and where it was shipped for sale. If you Google the reference number you will find lots of other examples and information online.
Definitely a two digit date would be preferred to show off the date window. But lots of others to choose from. Another theory I have is that it’s because it’s the highest date that all months have.
