State of the vintage collection: Is there method to my madness?

So here’s what my vintage watch box is looking like at the close of 2021:

  • Breitling Navitimer (1967)
  • Omega Speedmaster Mark II (1971)
  • Yema Rallygraf Super signed Amaryllis for Italian market (1969)
  • Doxa Cobart F1 hand wind (1968)
  • Hamilton W10 British Military (issued 1973)

Looking forward to your thoughts on what I should add next. ✌️

Impressive. I especially like the Hamilton.

Thanks. It gets lots of wrist time. So comfortable and ridiculously legible for its size. Cheers. ✌️

good thing about this hobby is you don't need a method.....or sanity, lol

well curated collection

Your method is one that I really like, and that is called being ORIGINAL 👌😀 in ones taste when collecting Vintage Watches and watches in general. Super collection 🦸🏻‍♂️!

·

Thanks. I’ve been looking at vintage Zodiac Sea Wolfs, so that may be a 2022 pickup. Cheers!

Thanks, man. Buy what you love isn’t just a cliché. It’s rule #1. 👊💯

I agree 💯%! I live by that rule 🤜🤛😀.

Kind of you to say. I’m really happy with what I’ve got and nothing is leaving, but the watch disease is relentless….😉

Love the Hamilton and dial on the Doxa is really cool.

Absolutely stunning pieces. The stories some of these would tell if they could tell more than time. Gotta love vintage watches. Outstanding  collection!

Thanks. Always fun to think about who the first owners may have been. Cheers.

I have no words... 👌👌👌👌 All the watches are so incredible...

Is is indeed one hell of a fine collection - I'd steal every one of them :D

Just out of my head, perhaps a Lecoultre Memovox? They are interesting jet still obtainable and do come in some more out-there caseshapes.

Thanks. I’ve looked at Vulcain Crickets but Memovox is one I hadn’t considered. Good one. Cheers.

Great collection.

We’re on the same page. I‘m definitely not ticking boxes, whether for brands or complications, but when looking for the next one I always look for something totally different from everything else I have.

Love the collection. That Rallygraf is fantastic! Great watch and super cool!!

Thanks. I never tire of it. The dial gets all the attention at first but the case is the unsung hero. Close if not the same as the Heuer 2446 Autavia.

Absolutely that case is perfect. I'm sure you've seen the Yema reissues. They don't hold a candle to your vintage reference.

I picked up the special edition they did for Mario Andretti - the Rallye Andretti, but it's a poor cousin to your beautiful piece.

They did a great job on the Andretti reissue. The full kit with photos looked really cool. Meanwhile even with Andretti promoting it himself, they got hardly any coverage on any of the big watch sites. Watchonista had a great interview with Mario and he’s wearing his original and the reissue. Really cool.
