TRIGGER WARNING: Breitling CEO posts broken Navitimer on Instagram

So, not sure what message Breitling CEO Georges Kern is sending here, but he posted this wristshot of a Navitimer that has two broken sub dial hands on his Instagram account. The hands are just freely rattling around on the dial surface, with one stuck under the chronograph seconds hand. He says it’s one of his vintage pieces from the 50s and notes the issue with the hands. I‘m at a loss here. No watchmaker would tell you to go ahead and wear a watch in that state. I imagine it could do all kinds of damage to the dial. What’s more perplexing is why he would think posting a picture of his brand’s most iconic watch in such disrepair is a good idea. All I take away from this is that he cares little for his watches or Breitling’s reputation.

I totally agree with you and I cannot for the life of me, come up with a reason for posting that.

New to this platform. Being a Breitling owner..I have no words.

Came across this older post and yeah, I’m equally dumbfounded why the CEO would post that on his social! Regardless, I’ve read Breitling is doing well since he’s taken over 🤙
