Your Watch Deserves This Bracelet

I have to credit @minutemeg for drawing my attention to the new Murph bracelet by Uncle straps.

This sent me down the rabbit hole of custom bracelets and led to me attempting to refinish my BB58 clasp.

I regret noting...

The clasp refinishing was very well done. Nice video!

Thanks, my hands were cramping from all the sanding 😅

·

Definitely agree with the new bracelet or strap bringing new life to a watch that might feel tired… as well as it being a more affordable proposition to buying a whole new watch. Appreciate the break down on swapping the clasp and on your refinishing - don’t think I am as courageous as you are to try it myself 😂

Loud mic hit 👊

Oh come on, you got it! It's so satisfying, I've been showing it to strangers on the street 🤣

I think the Murph is one of those watches that grows on you over time...

with that bracelet option now available, yes 100%

·

I bought the Murph because of that bracelet being available. Uncle got his shipment to me before the watch arrived.

Not to ruffle any purist feathers - but honestly when I saw this image I said, "Oh, someone made a 1016 Explorer that I can own without taking out a second mortgage."

I have the 42mm Murph and found that Hamilton's metal bracelet for the 42mm Khaki Field Auto fits it perfectly - reference number H695.705.110. Also love my Murph with single-pass fabric and burgandy leather straps.

@minutemeg deserves all the credit 🙏😊

@minutemeg organized a meetup here because, you know, she’s awesome.

·

Interesting you put it on the Intra Matic mesh…I put my Intra Matic on a leather rally strap and quickly switched back to the mesh…it’s a great bracelet super comfortable

I didn't like how it looked between those blocky lugs but to each their own 😊

·

Damn… now I want a murph to go with my other hamiltons 😂😂😂😂

·

Mesh is the new "integrated bracelet" craze...just hardly anyone knows this. YET !

·

This is something I have wanted to see for ages! I have a thing about buying watches on bracelets, as you can always find a plethora of straps, but a properly fitting ‘quality’ bracelet is significantly harder to find. I’ll be considering a 38mm Murph or the Khaki Aviation Pilot Pioneer in 38mm if a bracelet can be found. Thought between the two?

Can't go wrong with either, Hamilton has so many damn military inspired watches, I can't keep up 😅

Currently own two: a Khaki Field Mechanical and also the Khaki Field Automatic. However I do plan on picking up the Khaki Expedition 41mm in the next few months!

·

I just got a bracelet for my Laco Ausburg Napa Polar(oxymoron I know) edition cause it came with a strap that was too big probably for a big German pilot man or something and I finally feel “correct” with this watch. Glad I didn’t have to go third party but third party bracelets can be so nice when there’s no official option!

Great trio that would be 👍

·

Thanks Max. I'd love a bracelet for my kurono but it's way to random to ever get a proper fitting uncle.

Re restoring: that last application of brushing was with steel wool? or plastic steel wool? same product as green plastic pot scrubber pad?

Ordering some cape cod cloth now! I guess if restoring polished areas is just the cape cod (plus or minus the sandpaper depending on depth of scars you are cleaning up?).

·

It's from this video I learned that a steel bracelet for the Murph exists, I don't own one but I have a friend who does and he seems excited about that bit of info
