DIY watch club Pilot Watch Review + GIVEAWAY

I think I'd like to give it a go. Scary for me as I'm not sure about my fine motor skills to pull this off. The only fine motor achievement I had was being best in penmanship in 7th grade. 😜 So, achieving this will really expand my comfort zone. Fingers crossed that I win the raffle, and if I do, that I don't ruin the whole handset! Good tip Max, to use the sticky putty (raduco?) to help put it in place. Hehe...

i must say that making your own watch could be something very special indeed.. i wonder if i could actually pull of something like this with my shaky hands and not that great eyesight.. it's always satisfying to make something yourself even if it doesn't end up being the most perfect thing ever.. i hope one of those 68% gets to actually do it!

Thought about availing their DIY kits but decided I wanted to learn about movements first.

I think these sets are great for someone who find getting into building your own watch a bit daunting. You have want you need, and you won’t have to stop the process because you need a component or a tool. They will make great gifts as well. Love to have a go

Whilst the thought of opening up a watch terrifies me, this is a more tempting prospect.

Always interesting how different people have different approaches to set the seconds hand. Otherwise this seems like a good kit, and I assume you can reach out to the manufacturer if you have questions, right? Given the tools and the support that comes with it, you get a very nice looking watch for a price that I would consider reasonable.

These are awesome, talk about a gateway into watchmaking. DIY WC has a really cool approach to it as well, hope to see more of this type of content in the future :)

Yes, satisfying to accomplish diy. Given this watch is relatively cheap, I don't expect to be that accurate. If can have option for other movements, would be nice.

That speedy crystal swap - damn!  I'd love to have the balls to open up my pricier watches to do things like that.  Not sure if I'd ever get there but this might help.

Looking at the two watches, one looks like the start of a watch collecting journey, and the other the end. Sure would like to start my pilot's watch collecting journey with this kit!

This kit looks like it would be a great place for me to start making watches. I've wanted to mod Seikos and this set would give me the tools and know how to start. 

I've had my eye on the DIY Watch Club kits for a while now but haven't pulled the trigger on one yet. Would love to get a hold of one of these kits and build my own watch!

I have bought cheap eBay Seikos just to take apart. I have yet to try to build one. I see the DIY as either cheating or a good way to start depending on my mood and caffeine intake.
