Asking for 1st world problem advice…

I need your advice.
Today I got a call from an AD, although I had no customer history with him. It is a Rolex Submariner Starbucks (126610LV) for which my wife had put me on the waiting list 3 years ago. I will definitely buy the watch tomorrow. I originally wanted the Hulk with green dial, but it was discontinued while I was still on the waiting list. Now I am considering making room in my collection and selling either my Sea-Dweller (16600) or Datejust. I am also considering selling the Starbucks unworn to buy my original dream watch, the Submariner Hulk. I actually hate flipping watches, but I see an opportunity now to get my dream watch without much cost. My wife of course says the Submariner Starbucks she thinks is nicer and I should keep it.
What do you guys say?

I say do the flip. Cant have a Hulk AND a starbucks, thats ALOT of green suddenly pumped into your collection
Sell the sea dweller. Nice to have a dress watch in the collection. And yea flip the Starbucks for the hulk. You will always think of the hulk when you look at it!
I’d say you’d probably get 16k max for the Starbucks that would still put you 10k off of the Hulk. I prefer the 41mm to the maxi case. I also don’t like the mismatch sunburst dial to the ceramic bezel. I would probably sell the sea dweller and keep the Starbucks. It is veristile enough in low light or wearing black to that the green isn’t super noticeable which I like. Also the Hulks power reserve is at 48hrs if that makes any difference. My advice is to just go buy the Starbucks and wait a little bit. If you have no history with the AD they will remove all the plastic and make you size it for the most part FYI. You will be able to sell it as “unworn” but not brand new.
IIRC the Starbucks is still trading higher than the Hulk in Mint condition. If you make a trade, you should come out with a little extra cash.
I got my Hulk years before it was discontinued. I wasn’t too excited about the Starbucks at first. I was able to try one on recently and I liked it more than I thought I would. It’s still missing the brilliant green dial but it’s a pretty sharp watch in its own right.
Would I trade a Starbucks for a Hulk? I think so. I think that you’ll have a better idea whether it’s right for you once you have the Starbucks in hand. It’s really a personal, aesthetic, judgement call.
Flip the Starbucks for the hulk if it’s the watch you really want.

I think you deserve them both. Flip it for the Hulk. You can probably get another Starbucks cheaper than the Hulk. Or maybe get a another new Starbucks from an AD.
No brainer, flip it & get the watch you really want !
As another colleague said, sell the Sea Dweller, sell the Starbucks, buy the Hulk, that Batman and that Date Just are perfect

Whatever you do make sure you get the hulk if that's your one,hard choice between what to get rid,if the dj is your only dress piece I'd lose the sea dweller just to keep something a bit different,whatever you do you have a nice collection my friend and these are fun decisions to make 👌
Thank you very much for your numerous and helpful advice. In fact, in the meantime I have thought about it and have come to the same conclusion as many of you.
First step:
Buy the Starbucks tomorrow and then sell the Sea-Dweller.
Second step:
Live with the Starbucks for a while. Maybe I'll fall in love with it and if not, I'll go for the flip. Maybe I won't wear the Starbucks at all for a while.
I have come to the conclusion that once a two-tone watch is in the collection, it will be difficult to give it away. You would think of it on every occasion you would wear a dress watch. Just like I've been thinking about the Hulk for years because I wanted to buy it 10 years ago and never expected the market to go up like this.
I’d flip it for the Hulk, because otherwise it will always be second best… get the watch you want!
I like both the Starbucks and the hulk.
It would cost you at least $6k extra to buy thr hulk by selling the Starbucks if you were to sell your Starbucks at 16k (which is unlikely since professional sellers sells them at those prices so a private seller you may have to accept less).
Question is do you think the hulk is worth all thus extra money vs the Starbucks?
If I were you I'd go to a dealer that has both in stocks and try them on and take pics on your wrist to see how much you may or not prefer the hulk.
That way you can make a better decision.
Since you asked, I think the Hulk is the ugliest of Rolex watches, and I think the Kermit and Starbucks are some of the coolest. I’d take the Starbucks and add to the collection. If anything sell the sea dweller and get the Hulk.
Get the hulk, it’ll make your heart happy
Listen to your wife. We do not Sant to admit it, but that are 95 % of the time right. I also prefer Starbucks to the hulk… you can scratch the hulk box with a full green Oris aquis in 41,5mm ( SW200 variant)
Thanks! Today I tried all my watches and realized the Sea-Dweller is uncomfortable compared to the others. The bracelet is pretty light and the case is too heavy. So it might be the one to say good bye 😊
That's correct the Sea-Dweller is top heavy. Definitely a lot more uncomfortable than the Batman and the DateJust. Good choice if you really need to get rid of one 🤔
I'd keep the starbucks. Newer movement inside. Not a fan of green in general so i like that the starbucks has black dial. Just a biased opinion 😄

Keep the Starbucks and wait for the Hulk if it is truly your dream watch. A piece from the wife is special and should always be cherished and saved.
Your existing three are unique and nice enough to warrant all of them. The Dweller is previous gen goodness and actually wears like a dream imho as opposed to someone saying it is top heavy (stealthy too without the cyclops). The DJ is two tone classic goodness and the GMT a nice complication. Starbucks and Kermit are diff in person to warrant both. Get the Starbucks and see how you feel down the road, it can’t hurt anything.

As you can see, I made my way to the AD today. Next thing I am going to do is, trying to sell the Sea-Dweller. If I can’t stop thinking about the Hulk, I am going to flip Starbucks for it. And if not, my Rolex collection is complete now. Unless I get another call from my AD to pick up a Daytona 😂
I was really lucky in the past 15 months with Rolex watches from AD. I hope each of you on the list will get a call very soon. With me it worked also without that I had to buy a lot of expensive jewelry. By the way: my wife had herself put on the waiting list exactly 3 years ago and actually forgot about it at some point.
