Judge me!

I consider myself a watch enthusiast. I just don't like the Speedmaster. Discuss.

I agree, not because the Speedy is a bad watch, but just because I don't like any chronograph, and particularly those without a date.

Your Tuesdays may now be devoted to only tacos.

·

I wasnt a big fan of them either, getting away from chronos. Then I tried one on and they wear smaller than the size and looked so damn good.

I had one years ago after falling for internet hype on the forums.

I sold it in less than a year.

I found it dull, insipid, uninspiring, and it bored me to tears.

It belongs on the moon.

YMMV

I don’t mind these 2 @ 38 & 40mm but the Speedmaster isn’t on my list.

·

Nothing to discuss. You don't like them. That's cool. Fine a Chronograph you do.

Happy shopping.

·

Personal preference, its all subjective. You like what you like. Some enthusiast will agree with you and some don't. We are talking about watches...

·

You do you, boo.

·

Somehow I just don’t think particular preferences disqualify you😉

I have tried to buy a Speedmaster five (5) times, over the last 20 years. I struggled to pull the trigger each time. It is a handsome watch, but it does not “sing” to me. Looks good, lacks depth despite impressive pedigree. I think there are nicer Omegas for (or less than) the money.

Before anyone asks, I have tried most Moon versions, the classic versions, and a very rare version that I could have made money on if I flipped it. This is a very subjective input - the watch is not for me. It is a very nice watch, and if you like and own one, I am pleased for you. You probably would not like half of my collection, and that’s fine, because I know I don’t engage with yours.

I have no horses in this race.

·

Would I wear one, yes.

Would I pay their asking price, hell no!

Are there more iconic chrono models out there, also no. If they were good enough for NASA, they are good enough for any of us on the ground.

Do I wish I could afford the Sedna gold Speedy and would I wear it, also YES.

Keep your Speedy I will have this thanks 🙏

If I was going to spend a shit ton of money on an Omega ( The platinum Globemaster ) this beastie thanks 🙏

·

You're entitled to your wrong opinion. 😉🤣

JK, I get why some don't like it.

Nothing can have 100% approval rate.

The white gold version is also pretty snazzy.

·

Well, you're a braver man than me to make that statement on an enthusiast site. But I'll out myself too: I don't do chronographs, but if I did, I'd get a Zenith not the Speedy.

·

Speedmaster is a boring watch, but i LOVE the latest Snoopy.

·

Same here! I dont think its a bad looking watch, but the design just doesnt speak to me. However i do REALLY like the snoopy, so unique and cool!

·

Very valid point of view as it’s all rather subjective!

I’ma fan but thus far have only pulled the trigger on a few moonswatches!

S'ok, we don't have to venerate the same things - I really dislike the Sub and the whole Bland Bay range. 😄👍🏻

·

You are perfectly entitled! You don't have to love a watch just because everyone love it. That would be bullshit. There are gazillions of other watches, it's stupid to think that all we enthusiasts have to like the same watches.

·

Just not really into chronographs. But there are some nice ones out there

·

Perfectly fine. We can't all like and wear the same watch. Free will is sacred. 😊

·

I'd get one as close to the NASA spec as I can. While I like them, they are too much money. I could buy many other historically significant watches with that cash.

·

Love Omega as a company and really love most of their offerings from a quality and prestige aspect. I don't own an Omega (yet).

Bottom line for me, I have one Chronograph in my stable. I do indeed like it for what it is and especially as it came as a gift. However, I do not generally like chronographs as the dials are just too 'busy' for me. The remainder of my collection are clean, simple dials and even several two hand pieces.

Many others comments are spot on: you like what you like and you are not wrong for it. There are nearly as many types and designs of watches as are the tastes of the people who buy/collect them.

I consider myself a pizza enthusiast. I don't like pineapple.....

We all good here?

Not Speedy related but I will confess I’m a freak who likes Pineapple AND black olives on the same Pizza 😋🤣

I’ll just get my coat….

Noooo! Don’t get your coat! People who are true to themselves and don’t pretend otherwise are my favorite! We can have a beer and share that pizza as long as you don’t mind me picking off the pineapple, olives can definitely stay.

That’s nice 🙂Authenticity is something I value…sounds like a plan, man.
