Hi Hamishfrob, see my update above, but I hope to meet you at the event. Say "Hi" if you see me! I'll be wearing a black NASA hat.

The Blancpain Villeret ultraplate was one of the masterworks which Biver released after resurrecting the brand. The early examples used incredible Frédéric Piguet movements. The masterworks combined with Biver's marketing genius played pivotal role in saving the Swiss watch industry. The Villeret ultraplate is both a handsome watch with an amazing movement, and it's historically significant. The whole line of Villeret watches from the 80s and 90s are some of the most undervalued watches on the market today. I could write a lot more.. but for all that Breguet is amazing (and also underrated), pound for pound, I would go for the Blancpain. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Do you mean to say that it only took you a month to decide on your next purchase? My friend, you are in good shape.

Congrats on a spectacular watch!

The Spirit of Big Bang is a guilty pleasure watch for me. My tastes and my collection have mostly gone in the opposite direction, but it remains a soft spot for me. Congratulations on your new watch! Wear it in good health!

PS I hope you and your Hublot always feel welcome on watch crunch.
